QO was 10+m...I would think they can still be working on a $9m (example) deal and announce signing anytime. IF Bamba's agent already determined that the market was slim, they could just get it done and spare him the embarrassment of waiting for all of the calls and promote the idea that ORL was determined to re-sign him all along (quietly).

Correct me if I'm wrong...I don't think this news means he's gone. He def might be but I don't think this proves it and I sure don't see TOR or CHI valuing him that much to make a big offer.

After this past draft, the way we all look at insiders who claim to have advance info on what the Magic will do:

That said thanks OP for the post and totally would believe this if it comes to pass. The front office has recently made a big deal out of the team being comprised of "high-IQ players", sooooooo....

Seems like we're getting really cheap lately. Let's see if they do something with all this room.

I think Bamba might be getting some big offers and the Magic knew they wouldn't match that much. I'm sure some team will give him the full MLE.

Not like this FO to set aside an asset they’ve previously invested so much time (and draft capital) in developing.

Something else could possibly in the works.

I'm sure he'll go to a team that might have a starting spot for him.

I wish him the best. Hope he lands somewhere where he can develop. Really hope he doesn't end up as back up in Chicago.

Not sure there are a lot of open starting spots out there.

Bamba's cap hold would have been $22,706,228, so the Magic would have been unable to sign anyone until his situation resolved.

This changes that. He could still return.

It could. We should be team on the rise, we have clean books. I can envision a situation where some star thinks this is a good situation for him. Wagner is a stud and will only get better but he is a team player, WCJ is also team player, Suggs can cover for a star defensively and is a team player, we dont know about Paolo but he was a team player in college. Defensive oriented, unselfish team which will only get better. Player like Beal can convince himself to go here. Take next season to acclimate and contend from there for next 3-4 years. Its not totally stupid. Not very likely, but not stupid.

Are we going to be the third wheel in some sign and trade or other cap relief move? As long as it is not Westbrook, or really any PG (unless they're waived).

it definitely means this FO has a #1 target in FA and will be throwing some money quickly then maybe trying to circle back for Mo at a lower dollar amount.

Biggest **** waste ever.

Imagine selecting Mikal Bridges or SGA instead of this guy. Pick didn't make sense in 2018.
