The whole world has now seen the taster-image below, but note, the full set of first-images gets released at 10:30AM EST today.
Go here fro 10:30 Florida time:
https://www.nasa.gov/webbfirstimagesEverything in this image is what would be a barely visible super-small grain of sand held on your finger with your arm at full extension. That's how resolved these images are!
Zoom in on this link to get a view of how assume these photos are!
Nasa loves JW's first imageLow-res here:

They were texting these pics last night and said they'll get 5 more tomorrow. My step father was an engineer for 42 years at Brush Wellman that is the largest beryllium supplier in the world. He worked on the James Webb telescope.
That metal enabled them to do what they're doing now.
I don't need congratulated. I feel bad because I was more concerned with summer league basketball last night when they sent me the photos. I'm happy for him.

As a huge Astronomy geek, I've been patiently waiting for NASA to finally send the James Webb Telescope into space after all the setbacks.
Time to build on the accomplishments of Hubble, congrats!

Congrats, I hope your stepdad is proud of what he did. Just think, this is just the beginning and people will build upon this. Thank him for his contribution for us.

That's so awesome! Not many people get to say their family were directly involved in something that will profoundly affect mankind, must be very proud, congrats

Some guy named John Mather who won the Nobel Peace Prize just emailed and texted my stepfather to thank him. So he's happy about that.
