I think we look pretty good, particularly if Isaac is going to be relevant, even in a lesser role at first. But we've got too many bodies and too many guys who need opportunity to develop. We've got tools to make a bigger deal, but it's unlikely at this point. I think the FO wants to see what we've got before jumping in the deep end. I DON'T think tanking is in the plan unless we are crippled with injuries I really think if Paolo & Franz show incredible complimentary chemistry, it'll be mostly a matter of who fits around them best...even if it's just 3&D guys, rim protectors, whatever

These guys are solid in their prominent roles, and if they play like we expect, will be rock-solid in the starting lineup...
Franz, Paolo, WCJ (all Frontcourt).

These guys will be handed prominent roles in hopes that they show more complete games and chemistry...
Fultz, Suggs

These guys might have the possibility of jumping over any of the above if the starters falter or injuries or if they're just so good they can't be reined in...
Cole Anthony, Isaac, Bamba, Harris

These guys could be anywhere from waived, to traded for seconds, to critical rotation guys, depending on their attitudes, performance, and chemistry...
Okeke, Houstan, Tross, RJ Hampton, M. Wagner, Bol, Cannady, Schofield

I'd be shocked if any of the first two groups are moved without seeing them play a LOT. I'd be really surprised if anyone in the third group was moved before the trade deadline-but, who knows. They could all really matter this year. That's 9 guys unlikely to be moved - unless it's a major deal. The last group has all kinds of possibilities...some of which we may not care to spend time on. What do you project for the last group...any deals? waivers? G-league? Rotation roles? There are too many of them to just stand pat.

Personally, I think I'd rather move RJ for 2nds than TRoss. If TRoss is amped about Paolo, I'd keep him and give him some minutes. If TRoss is dead-set on getting out, then now's the time and it'll be a dump, maybe into BOS's, or somebody else's TPE. Sadly, it could just be a buy out for nothing. Then we get to watch him become 6moy, playing 30 mpg for the Lakers

I love Houstan's player profile and I'm keeping him on the active roster from Day 1, just for his potential outstanding fit.

I don't care at all about Bol or Schofield, I don't mind Cannady and Moe at the very end of the bench. I was hopeful for RJ, but...

I really like Okeke, but he's the hardest one to gauge...maybe he, TRoss, and RJ could bring us back a single body and a late first? Okeke, in particular, really does have potential on both ends - I'd hate to lose him without getting back something real. Who is a step behind us in their rebuild and could do what we did last year, managing a wild playpen - looking for someone to stand out? (maybe UTA?)

It's nice to see the promise in ALL of our players, but not feasible to cling to them all and let them rot on the bench. We're very deep, if not good.

I kind of would like to, but where does he get minutes? at who's expense? If Isaac's not ready to play-that would be the answer OR, if TRoss is just gone asap, I guess. I'm really a fan of Okeke, but I can't put him ahead of Isaac, at 3 or 4, if Isaac's healthy. I'm not even sure that a healthy Isaac doesn't start at C...GOOD problem, not one we're used to

Ainge apparently doesn't value RJ Barrett and wants a million picks...Maybe we send 3 expirings/non-guaranteed guys with two firsts for RJ Barrett (who Knicks are apparently willing to let go)? We get a prominent young big SG by helping NY and UTA get what they want more.

Cut RJ and sign a guard on a 2-way contract. That’s it. Maybe sign Lethal as a dedicated coach.

I dont see how Barrett could benefit our core. Not very athletic, bad defender, limited ceiling as a shooter. What position he starts SG ?

He's clearly an explosive scorer at the 2. He would, possibly, knock Franz' ceiling back in the offensive pecking order - but, if we're being honest, that's probably Franz' perfect stat-stuffing, prime Hedo role. I'd love to see Franz play just like he did last year, but improve his spot up 3% a bit. That's a heck of a player. They're all young, they're all going to earn paydays (you hope). He would be getting his sooner (I don't think he's a max and he'll be RFA), but we'd send out enough to offset it and instantly make some noise in the East - without lowering our ultimate ceiling. Paolo will defer to nobody and will largely control the ball - along with Franz. I'd happily include Fultz in the deal, along with TRoss, and slide Suggs to the PG spot, although he'd defer most offensive creation to our 2 6'10 point forwards. If Suggs comes along quickly on the offensive end - even better, but not as critical as it would be alongside non-shooting Fultz. We have a team of young guys...ultimately, you hope they're good enough to "have to pay". So far, Weltman has done an amazing job with WCJ, Bamba 2nd deals and injury protections on Isaac and Fultz. If you don't ever want to pay anybody- draft bad players, I guess. That's a big, versatile team with lots more shooting/scoring than we've enjoyed and also defensive potential...still, a very young team with lots of room to grow.

Yup.... we're definitely talking about a different type of individual. Might just see straight gratitude to see his career back on track with a healthy season and meaningful minutes

The fact the magic showed enough faith in him to offer him a decent contract despite the injuries should have been a sign enough that the team values him and he should be grateful for that.

I see the offseason as already finished. If tross really wants out I could see him being involved in one of those blockbuster (KD) (DM) trades to help grease the wheels and match salaries but I don't see any of these guys being moved until at least the trade deadline. And okeke is part of the first/second group imo. Probably won't start because not everyone can start but should be first guy off the bench and should be playing significant minutes

I would trade RJ for a late future 2nd rd pick. Free up minutes for Ross, Harris, Cannaday or Houstan. Addition by subtraction. RJ just doesn’t fit the teams needs with what he wants to become.

Probably not what TRoss had in mind but maybe UTA buys him out. An engaged Ross is better than Beasley, but Beasley can really shoot it some nights. I wonder if we could make it a 2 for 1 (we've got too many) and get a 2nd back? TRoss is expiring, so that might be a plus for Ainge, who doesn't seem to be looking for players so much as picks and cap flexibility. Beasley's rep is less than pristine, but Isaac would probably be able to vouch for his locker room fit (or not). Longer term, Beasley could be a really nice fit at SG...not sure where that puts Suggs. If FO is fully committed to Fultz/Suggs starting backcourt, with Cole/Harris getting minutes, no point in Beasley. The more I look at our perceived "needs" and trade discussions, the more I think Suggs falling to #5 ultimately means Fultz has to move on (when Suggs shows a bit more capability or Cole takes the PG job). I'm so bullish on Fultz, but can't keep hoping he can be a scorer for much longer-we've suddenly got too much young talent depending on it.
