Did you already look at the draft next year?

I know it's early but it's always interesting to have a look at the next draft!

I should be an intersting draft with the Magic possibly having two picks.

Do you guys have some candidates for the two picks!

honestly, i havent even looked. there are always surprise players in the college season that you didnt even consider the year before. Keegan Murray, Ivey, Mathurin, Johnny Davis, etc. None were really on lottery radar until this past season. and we need to get more into the season to project where our pick will land. No use looking at top-10 players if 50 games in and we are competing for playin spot.

Also: the Magic could draft 1, 4, or 10. Who knows. But then we are comparing Victor Wembanyama to Kel'el Ware.

Early days but Tankathon has 11 guys in the first round who are some kind of SG. That's a good start for us.

If we need an SG/SF, this is truly a great year to have a lottery pick.

If we need a combo guard profile more, less so but there are still some nice options.

If we need a pure PG, which is definitely still a possibility, the pickings appear slimmer.

I have heard podcasters saying this is a really good draft, but you can't really tell until these guys get on the court against stronger competition. It does seem that many of the prospects that are currently rated highest are SGs and/or wings. Hopefully we get two nice bites of the apple.

Wembanyama was measured this week at 7'4" with 8' wingspan. Turns 19 in January.

I predict the Magic won’t draft 2 players and will make some sort of trade. Whether that be packaging the pics together to move around in the draft, or some kind of pick + player or pick for player move.

I could see this happening if they don’t move some other guys. The core seems pretty solid unless someone really doesn’t show up this season as advertised.

Let's say the Magic has #7 and #18, One thing that might work is a SnT of #18 and Hampton for Oladipo. That costs Orlando little and is a good upgrade at the SG slot. And the #7 should be a nice bench player.

I highly doubt RJ Hampton will have 4th year option picked and even if he does, i highly doubt anybody will consider him lock for 14 men roster.

Hampton, Bol and Okeke are facing uphill battle to stay in nba. Hampton & Bol are already with one foot at the exit.

Oladipo is a free agent and Miami will be over the tax threshold once they sign Herro.

I'd do Ross and the Denver pick for Josh Hart. Portland might be $1.5M over the tax threshold and Ross makes about $1.5M less than Hart. Ross went to HS in Portland.

I wish we make the playoff. But Chicago is also likely playoff bound. Could we move up with our two FRPs into top 10?

I think player development this upcoming season is more critical than our draft slot, just my thinking

I hope we can have a All Star from this young roster very soon

But however, getting into Victor train is also fun but it is a pipedream. lol

We're still going to be in the bottom 10 of the league. Progress should be expected, but especially in the east, we're in the bottom three.
Depending on how the season goes, one player I'm going to keep an eye on for the Bulls pick is Gradey Dick. A 6'8 sharpshooter could fill a need if we trade Harris and Ross. For our pick, the Thompson twins are interesting, but there's a lot of time. Scoot and Victor are safely in 1-2 unless something really weird happens. After that, I'm guessing there will be lots of shifting as the year progresses.

This coming draft is supposedly amazing based on what I've read, Wembayanma obviously is an amazing prospect but if you get the second pick you still get Scoot Henderson who is probably a franchise guy himself.

Henderson reminds of Ja Morant. Jaden Ivey has been compared to Morant but I think this guy Henderson actually is like Ja Morant.

Baba Miller is a player Orlando will scout extensively. And I would imagine, before a single NCAA game is played, Anthony Black is the next Magician. Black has a lot of metrics management desires.

In conclusion, nobody has a friggen clue what direction the Magic will go in for the next draft.

Cason Wallace sounds like the perfect guard alongside Paolo and Franz. Projected to go top 10.

Expect Wallace to inevitably garner comparisons to Jrue Holiday and Marcus Smart, two stylistic forebears that offer an optimistic blueprint for how his career might optimally evolve. While he’s a bit smaller than his listed height, he brings quite a bit to the table for a combo guard, playing a tough-minded, utilitarian style that lends itself to team success. While not exceptionally fast or quick, Wallace has a strong frame, good length, and a terrific instinct for blowing up plays on the defensive end. He’s smooth with the ball, rarely gets sped up, and enters college with a developed floater and a pretty reliable jump shot. Wallace is one of the more college-ready prospects in this class, and while his style isn’t overly flashy, his understanding of his own strengths and range of ways to impact the game creates a pretty bankable floor as a valuable NBA role player. His aptitude for the game gives him a chance to be more than that.
