Hope everyone is going to be ok as Hurricane Ian barrels in.
Stay safe, have a flooding contingency and hope you all come out the other side ok.
Spare a thought for reducing your carbon footprints, until it happens we're heading for repeated freak weather events on an ever increasing scale.
Be safe!

Rain has picked up here. I think people are probably conserving battery. Hope all of you are okay and staying safe.

I picked a good time to move back to Orlando from Los Angeles...
Hopefully everyone here currently living in the Tampa/Fort Myers area of the west coast has evacuated safely.

Hi Orlando/Florida Magic fans... are you guys alright?
Give a shout-out/roll call here when it's all done. I myself lived through "fury of nature" type of experience from typhoons, earthquakes and the like. So I know how that feels.

Winter Garden area, heavy winds and rain for hours now but power still, knock on wood. Looks like eye of storm is avoiding a direct hit with metro Orlando and heading towards Melbourne.

I was in Fort Myers way back when when I qualified for the Fencing National Championships (1993).
It's sad that seeing that this is what that city is today:

What a mess. Long-term impacts to everyone else too. The market for used cars and building supplies is going to get worse.

I think this was in the UCF area, that whole area is a freaking mess. The flooding was horrible probably because they dont many many retention ponds and the Lil Econ river is near by. People losing their belongings, etc. However FT Myers looked like a bomb went off...wow.

That is a disaster indeed. Last I've heard, the damages from the hurricane is estimated up as far as 250 billion dollars.
I hope that the Floridians who are affected by this disaster are doing their diligence to staying safe and finding shelter from all of this.
