Meh. I like them for city version. If this was part of a rebrand or something, I'd be singing a different tune though.

As an Orlando native, I get it and like that the marketing team is opening up the scope, but would like it more if it had something to bounce off of. For instance, the reopening of the Bumby Arcade in the former Cheyenne Saloon (if it ever happens) or even the grand opening of the Sports and Entertainment Complex that's also on Church.

But I will say this: it gets us away from the orange jerseys for at least a year. I understand the heritage to the citrus industry but putting the Magic logo in orange isn't right. Putting "Orlando" in orange bothers me less.

I also question the color choices here. I like the colors, just not for a Magic jersey. At least it's blue.

If you're asking me what I would do for a city edition, I would base it on the official Orlando flag. It features Lake Eola and blue is the prominent color.

is it really a "leak" if they are on a rack for sale?

It’s ugly but the ‘Orlando’ font size is way off and makes it look cheap.

At least the stripes are straight. The blue isn’t right and even the black looks dark gray/navy/faded (the black issue may just be the lighting of the picture). The font is meh but the size of ‘Orlando’ is way too small.

I just cant wrap my head around why they over think these things so much. If there’s anytime to do fan service as a franchise, you would think it would be with jerseys, considering they are the primary consumers.

But they still drop the ball horribly every time.

They definitely seem to be going for a bygone era font, which would suggest it's an homage to Church Street Station since it's right by the stadium.

I'm biased because I love when the Magic wear black, but the more I look at this the more I like it. It's simple enough to not be ridiculous-looking (which can't be said about most City Editions in the NBA). At first glance I thought it was too similar to the Pelicans jersey font, but now I can see the differences and think it'll certainly stand out amongst all of the many Magic jerseys I'm sure we all own.

Edit: Yes, this is awesome compared to how bad City Jerseys usually are. Look at this monstrosity:

All these crappy cheap city jerseys just to make more cash. Wish the NBA would just go back to your normal one away and one home uniform. I know it’s such a tiny issue for most people but things like this actually piss me off lol.

I haven't looked at every photo, but it SEEMS like this preseason has teams wearing white at home.

That brings me joy.
