How good is a (see below) lineup, and how many years do you think it would take before we could start our climb into relevance and leave the tank years behind us. Let’s say 3-4 years down the road, is this team in the running? Or is it more treadmill based. I know it depends on the growth, but I really like this lineup
Fultz
Poole
Franz
Paolo
WCJ

I don’t like the idea of Fultz and Franz. Franz looks to be an effective point forward, and Fultz is useless without the ball. Ideally, Suggs would transform into a 3&D guard (lol) and fill that PG role.

Agreed.
I’d love to land Poole or Herro but now the latter has re-signed with the Heat

Completely agree. I see Poole being more of a "Lead Guard", call him what you want, and Franz and PB initiate the offense as much as anybody. I'd love to see Suggs just work out one spot (corner 3?) and be deadly efficient - like PJ Tucker. Not a great shooter per se, but he only takes shots he's great at...then provides suffocating defense and energy to complement Poole's Harden role...in the back of my mind hoping Suggs becomes even more (but that limited effective role WOULD be enough given our lineup).
Everybody else in our backcourt would be up for grabs IMO...unless Fultz really puts on a show before the Trade deadline/Summer of reckoning...Of the rest, I'd gladly have Gary Harris first guard off the bench-while taking two good frps to try and upgrade further.

I'm going to let things play out before I rush to judgement. Let's see what works first then the team will make decisions

I believe Poole will sign an extension this week, particularly in light of the Draymond scene. GSW will open the already wide open vault and pay him his market value before he goes to market and gets his feelings hurt in a bidding war...they need him locked in and ready for another ring run ASAP. They could always trade him later - given his age (and secondary role on the team right now).
I really like Gary Trent as the next likely target in RFA, but he's not as dynamic as Poole (or Herro or Donovan Mitchell, etc). He's really solid, especially from 3 and would fit beautifully...but I think it will take an overpay - and I don't think his game, while being a great fit in ORL, doesn't move the needle enough from, say Gary Harris, to blow our cap space on. I'm not ruling him out, but I'd maybe turn our attention to trading for another guy who is already under contract. We have lots of pieces and picks and, if we wait, cap space (expirings and non-guaranteed guys could basically be traded as "cap space" sooner).
If UTA is just blowing it up, I'd grab Sexton (and Beasley and maybe NAW) for a lot less than Poole would cost us. If SAS is looking farther down the road, they have a gaggle of wings who can shoot - first choice being Vassell, but other more gettable guys -certainly Jason Richardson could probably be had for next to nothing (as a placeholder).
Anyway, I think Poole will soon be locked up in GSW and, maybe we look for another young shooter in a limiting situation...who could maybe look like a lot more playing off of our bigs.

Wow...that was quick. Thanks Draymond. IMO, he was going to get it eventually, but GSW is all in now (as ever)...Wiggins & Draymond's future still up in the air (technically, at least). If they don't roll through the season and (at least) get to Conference Finals...there may yet be some reckoning. Wiggins is worth a lot of $$$ right now, but maybe Moody and Kuminga take big enough steps to make GSW ponder a shred of financial planning.

I guess put this to rest, Poole signing 4 year $140 million extension a little steep for my liking tbh.
