Edey will be a 6-10 year 10-15 mpg backup C (barring injuries, where he will be at huge risk). But his key role on any team, given his body and game, will be important utility for the practice and training sessions. Would you want to practice against him?

But: some team will start him for a season. That will be ugly.

He’s a second round talent. Not sure how the loss was on him anyway. I would still love to draft him this summer.

We need them to be in the 9-11 spot. I DO NOT want to lose their pick this year. I like a handful of guys from that 6-12 range.

I do not. At least not in every case.

If the Magic are fortunate enough to land Wembanyama, I would start him at center and trade Carter for the best guard I could get. I'd call Portland and see if something could be worked out with Simons.

Miller, Dick and Whitmore are wings, so I think any of them could handle it.

Walker and Hendricks are more forwards than wings if that makes sense.
I really like WCJ and I don't think there is an obvious starting center in the lottery. Wemby wants to play the 4, right?

I would pick him mid teens.

He might have not lived up to his hype as the #1 HS recruit in the NCAA because of injuries or whatever, but he showed he still has his shooting touch and at 6'6ish... is good enough for the wing spot

low key happy that they didn't get deep.... because that would have probably propped him more closely into the 1st round.... now... an early 2nd round possibility is there. we need a physical option on this team and i like him as that option.

He will drop... his top 10 pick was the result of.him being a highly recruited HS player and with the ability to shoot 3s. Think of a faster Corey Kispert. He was also a projected top 10 pick but dropped.

Problem with Dick is he is playing with a lot of upperclassmen and Kansas wants to win, not showcase a rookie.

I bet the Thompson twins try to sell themselves hard to Orlando.

This has been a pretty brutal tournament for NBA draft prospects. No one has really stepped up in a big way yet.

If the Thompson twins were actually good, they would definitely take a promise for the 6th and 10th pick. I'm sure they want to be on the same team.

I'd love that just for the storyline! The hype train would be through the roof if we got both twins.

Lively looks like another Caulie-Stein or Javale McGee. Maybe Deandre Jordan at best. I don’t think he has enough to him to go far in the league - but happy to be wrong about that, because I love his shotblocking. I’d be picking Zach Edey over him without question. Zach has his own set of limitations, but he has IQ and high efficiency. Where Lively would be the better perimeter defender and possibly better blocker, Edey will be that immovable big body who just gobbles up rebounds and who will be pretty automatic from inside.

Maybe... its just that i think we all saw Tacko and BOban, those automatic inside points , get hunted and becomr totally unplayable. Can Eddey break that stigma? Who knows...

Yet.. Lively.. well sure there the wcs and javalee mold but there are also the Jaffro, M. Williams, M. Robinson...

Guess it all boils down to what we want.

Eddey doesn’t seem fit for NBA. His pockets will be picked and will be fast breaked to death.

I hear ya, but I think Edey has the base level skill and IQ to have success even in this iteration of the league. Tacky and Boban never displayed the footwork and soft touch that Edey has, they were just big.

Defensively his impact will obvs come in the paint where he’ll be a deterrent and rebound machine. If he can learn to grab a rebound and pitch it up to a streaking wing he could lead his own transition runs. On the perimeter he’ll get destroyed but he could be coached into using his length to mitigate that.

Offensively he would start as a post player who can help generate looks on the perimeter. I like his chances of one day developing a jumper out to the 3pt line - we could be talking 8 years down the line, but I think the potential is there.

For us, he’d be a big body to bring off the bench and in moments we need to secure rebounds. If we got him for a 2rp, it will prove to be great value.
