Around The League 2022-2023 season

We are 10-13 games deep into a season and it's a very strange season opening.

From some non emotional perspective, most interesting teams are probably Jazz and T wolves and comedy relief segments of Lakers basketball.

I found this video of T wolves struggles. It goes in very nice details how having 2 bigs creates more confusion than anything in modern basketball as it's hard to eradicate their previous habbits out of existence and how uncomfortable both Gobert and Towns actually are with each other.

From Magic perspective it has brief mention of D'angello Russell and how his playmaking duties aren't as sharp as they should be.

And since i'm here talking about T wovles, last night, they played 4 on 5 because D'angelo Russell forgot to get into a game.... Not even kidding. Guy stood on box for subs for no reason.

yah, Russell is not great. You'd think with his shooting abilities and size he would be. Because how teams are just locking every good player, Russell is creme of the FA crop. Except for a certain spirited Net. So glad to see the Black Hebrew Israelites came to Kyrie's aid with protests yesterday,

If we are going to add talent to this team from the outside, I am convinced it will need to be through trade.

I think that free agency reached point where you pay $1,50 for $1 worhy players.
Because for player it's way more valuable to resign early, or not hit free agency at all OR just resign than actually change team via free agency, instad of sign & trade or something.

That Russell sub in moment was absolutely crazy, never seen anything like that before! The fact the coach / bench didn't spot it either makes it even worse

In nutshell, defense sucks, mainly because Draymoond Green is shell of former self and new guys off bench are getting wracked

Plus: lot of Magic game footage

Did not get the Gobert move since day one.

i get that they want to go "all-in"and add best player available, even with an overpay,to have two-three +50 regular season wins,i appreciate that.

but but but why add a player who could be so disfunctional and that could need so much time?
Gobert is 30,how many good seasons he could still has?two?three?one of those is almost already gone just trying to adjust things,it's crazy.

also:doing all this stuff,in total contradiction to what this league has been in last 10 years, projecting Towns to run through screens

If the Bulls miss the playoffs, Orlando having that 2nd lottery pick could be very valuable if the Magic miss out on the top 2 and want to move up from like 3, 4 or 5 to 2.

Would a team like Detroit who already has their starting backcourt in Ivey/Cunningham flip 2 for 4 and 12 and a player? Probably, right?

Not specifically directed at you but I will never understand the "he scored 32 on 14 shots" line when the guy gets to the line over 20 times, as if those trips to the line aren't wasted possessions.

Free throws are wasted possessions? :o

I guess *used possessions is a better term.

Ah, yeah, true. I was gonna say getting a team in foul trouble is never bad! We've sorely needed what Paolo is doing for a while now with FTs/fouls

Warriors prove fact that it's much easier to win title than defend title. Basically every single game they played this game, on the road, opponents played them like it's their nba finals. Latest example, Kings. I don't remember last time Kings arena was that lit. Probably since Stojaković, Bibby and company played

Your GSW comment above connect here directly to Klay Thompson. He is a shell of himself and should not be an NBA starter. If he stays this bad, I cannot see the Warriors as more than a play-in team.

And this isn't just a lack of mobility. Heck: his FT% numbers are down form 90% to 75%. There is a problem here!
