Hello, guys!

I am huge Orlando Magic fan from Serbia (my hometown is Sombor- you may have heard of the town cause that is where Nikola Jokic is from).

The first ever game on TV I watched involving the Orlando Magic was Feb 5th 1999 vs NYK- and that was a W. So, I fell in love with the team and was a huge fan since.

I will watch 3 games at Amway, Jan 28 vs Bulls, Feb 7th against the NYK and Feb 9th against the Nuggets.

Let me know if you would recommend a place *a bar* to get some beers after those games in case some of you are going too. Would be great to meet some of you there.

Welcome! What made you a Magic fan vs another team?

Everything. The jerseys. The court. Players. Bo Outlaw was doing some crazy things at that game back in 1999.

And one other thing: I already hated the Bulls, the Knicks and the LA Lakers. Since then, on my hate list Boston was added. LOL

I remember that year and was probably at that game! I actually remember one specific game where we played Philly on March 14th that same year. We're down by one, Philly was inbounding the Ball with seconds to go. Darrell Armstrong steals the inbound pass and makes a layup at the buzzer. The arena went absolutely crazy as we won 74-73!

That's really where Darrell became my all-time favorite Magic player through that heart and hustle time. In fact, the only Magic memorabilia I paid for was a signed game ball by Darrelle that I have sitting in my office. I could afford just about anyone's items, but Darrell just represented all of the great things about the game.

I am not sure if NEM and ORL are still visiting this board lately, but you could catchup with them if they are willing and free, both are from Serbia too and have been Orlando residents last I checked. I am Serbian as well, but I'm not in USA.

Damn, so many Serbs around and I wasn't even aware. Do not check back at this forum every day, so that is why.

Pepe is from Croatia and I believe he wasn't the only one, so Magic has decent number of fans in ex-YU especially since it had very few players from our region throughout the years aside from Hezonja and Miličić as far as I can remember and both didn't leave particular mark.

You forgot about Mario Kasun, that guy could have and should have better career.

Oh yeah... catch up on NEM.

He is the Darko-Church-Fedex-Scanner guy right? You could have your own version of that Serbian table in Disney during the lockdown or something.

Ah, yes, 1999, the lockout season. Penny's last year with the team. He played like such a bitch that year.

Cool story on how you became a fan. Winning truly does build a fan base. Sadly, I am a teacher here in the Orlando area and majority of my students are fans of GSW. And they have zero affiliation to to the San Francisco area
