What to do with empty roster spot?
With Bev not making it here, we have an actual empty spot for the rest of the season, what do we do with it?
My thought is we still need a big, which direction do we go?
Who's available?
G-league?
10 day contracts?
buyout market?

Re: What to do with empty roster spot?
If anyone I'd go with a high energy big man who can defend. Someone who cheers on his teammates, show a lot of enthusiasm, isn't afraid to dive for balls, etc. Not sure who that might be, but that'd be who i'd look for.

Use the PBev slot to sign Kevon Harris to a regular contract so he is accessible without barriers rest of season. Waive Ross and do the same with Admiral. Use the new open 2 way slots to sign deep bench from G League (4th big and guard depth for injuries)

Not sure the team would eat 2 contracts this year & also, needing someone for the playoff push, the 3rd big is a must for the rest of the year. Especially with Carter's rest needs.
Wouldn't hate locking up K. Harris on a Bol/Mo W. contract with options.

Re: What to do with empty roster spot?
The Magic will probably pick up another C from the waived-market. Or if not, then just give more time to the G-leaguers.
A team is only obliged to hold 13 contracts, with a league average of 14. So Orlando is fine to add no new players from a CBA perspective.
AND: if the Magic do make the play-ins, the open slot can be used at that time based on pressing needs based on any injuries.

I'd like to hear about some of the possible players.

Re: What to do with empty roster spot?
Well, they will have one open roster spot but could have more if they buyout Ross and Hampton.
First thing should be to covert Kevon Harris to a standard deal.
I do think Weltham has a plan though.

Re: What to do with empty roster spot?
I agree with looking for that 7ft big man with a lot of effort that can hold the fort for at least 10mins a game for the inevitable injury/rest of WCJ and the suspension of MoeW.
Let's be real here, without WCJ all our 6'10 above big play matador defense especially against opponent's bigs

Best young energy big man in the G league...the next Khem Birch (maybe with a little more skills upside)

The leading rebounder is G-league rookie Jayce Johnson. He is on an amazing 13.3 rpg. He looks like a terrible shooter.
....
Changing topics: Mychal Mulder is available. He is a high volume and accurate 3-ball shooter. He won some tank games for Orlando (which I guess means some here don't like him). He could be a player to sign if the Magic make the play-ins.
..

Who is the *Garza* in GL right now? 7ft big body and rebounder yet can bomb 3s.

Luka Garza has rights with the T'wolves and is not available for the Magic to sign.
