Victor the Great?

Post#1 » by magickingdom » Sat Feb 18, 2023 10:41 pm

So I saw an article titled “Victor W, the best NBA prospect since Labron. But nobody is tanking for him?”
So as a discussion starter: Is He?
He has never played an NBA game and he is proclaimed one of the best. What position will he play? He to skinny to play the post. Is he a stretch 4? He’s not going to be some kind of rebounding machine. Also will he even hold up? Look at Chet, his 1st NBA opponent and he got broken. Will Victors body hold up? So many questions???

Now can we compare to Paolo.
He is breaking all kinds of rookie records.
Many comparable with some of the NBA greats.
Some that even Labron didn’t match.
So only time will tell, but at this point doesn’t it seem that Paolo has a better chance to be the next best NBA prospect, since Labron? Better chances than Victor, at least at this point.
Thoughts or discussion?

4 teams do tank for him

He will play center. He is 7'3 without shoes ( to his own words) and has absurd lenght. Basically he is funcional version of Mo Bamba and Gobert, if Gobert ever had any basketball skills.

Have you seen any of his videos or only this article?
He is amazing and already playing against pro players (not a high-level league in Europe, but still). He already debut for France's NT and in the 1st game had a 20/9 game against Lithuania. He is a generational talent.

Maybe because tanking for 14% chance to get 1 guy is just dumb

Wemby's skills are just absurd. Then you add in his physical gifts and it's easy to see. The only questions I have is leadership ability and competitive drive. But I watched his postgame interview after the game with Scoot and when asked if he talked to any of the NBA players after the game he said something like, "No. I'm not easy to talk to after a loss." That tells me something. I would LOVE Scoot for us. But if we somehow do get No. 1, you don't pass on Wemby.

Zero worry. They have players that won't tank.

Plus, even if they did for some weird reason get their pick this year, then good. This year's draft stinks.

I think even with all the risks involved with his frame you take Wemby because of his size potential to become the goat with his size, skills and competitiveness.

That said, he is indeed worth tanking for, right now.

You wont REALLY know until maybe 5-10 years from now, however.

If they get pick, they draft top 4.
So Victor, Scoot, Miller and whoever

I have full confidence in Marc Eversley and Billy Donovan to ensure the "correct" roster is on the court to pile on loses. The Bulls is on a 6-game losing streak, and is 2-games back of the 10-slot. Atlanta, Washington and Toronto are all trying to win, so I see no path at all for the Bulls to make the play-ins.

In their next three games, there are contests against Washington and Toronto. Lose both, and their season is done.

And-1 !

Why would the Bulls want to stay as the 7th worst team if there is no hope for play-ins. The Bulls might try to lose out as Chicago is the one team in the league that actually has a tangible benefit in collecting as many lotto balls as possible (the horrible teams will all get their 25% chance to go top-2 no matter how many more loses can be found at the bottom).

They are very close to top 5 worst and 42% chance at keeping pick. That's almost coin flip chance.
