Dim Hope for a play in spot

With 16 games left, Magic is 4 and half games back to the playin spot. We just lost to a Jure Holiday and Giannis less Milwaukee team. Horrible loss.

Plus we have a brutal schedule left. We have to go on a west coast trip to face Phoenix and LA Lakers plus Clippers. And at home facing Miami Heat and Cleveland twice.

I don't see us making the play in, period. And I think we should just let the season to be over with, hopefully with a top draft spot

If we even keep 50 50 with the rest of the schedule, that will guarantee us a 5th worst record and 10.5% chance for the NO.1 pick

I think the play in door is closed now. It is time to shift focus on to the NBA Draft

It was never more than a long shot. I believe we're as good as those teams, but the injuries put us in too big of a hole early on. And truth be told, the fact we were even talking about it means this season has been a success. Before the season started, it's not like we were expecting to make it. Opinions varied of course, but generally speaking, we were (and are) optimistic about our prospects, but we weren't expecting to win a lot of games this season.

But now that we've shown what we've shown, playoffs will be an expectation for next season.

This would've been a playoff team if they were healthy. But having the 5th best odds in this draft with 2 potential generational talents in this draft is just as good.

Play-in hopes are gone. I wanted the team in the play in because I thought it would do well for them mentally just so they get the feel of it, but there were just too many mistakes down the stretch and not enough consistency. Now, I just hope they just go out there and play for each other and enjoy being a team because some might not be here next year.

I don’t care about the lottery. It is a crap shoot. Every fan deserve to see a great product out on that floor especially with how expensive these tickets are and how many hours of work you have to do just to get them. I would not advocate for a team to throw games just to get better position in the lottery. Do the best you can and draft well.

If only we woulda play the Celtics 16 more times this season. Season is over.
I think we all been happy how it went. I've expected far less wins. I haven't expected Paolo be that good. Wagner imo shown he is the best prospect of last year's draft. Fultz has been consistent. We got rid of Bamba. Ex ex ex
Now it's time to think Wich guard we gonna keep long term (I would release fultz, sorry guys). What we gonna do with Isaac. And do the scouting stuff for 2 lotto picks (hopefully) Wich can land from 1 to 15. This is gonna to be the most important and decisive summer for this young core. Lot of decisions to make. This is a wonderful time for the franchise with tons of upside for this roster. And I really love WeHam, mostly all you hear about front offices (no matter what team or sport) is criticism nor so much good things. Let's go magic we can do it before 2030

Washington is on pace for a 39-win season and will probably have the tie breaker over Orlando. For Orlando to get to the required 40 wins for a play-in slot, that is 13-3 record. And-1 as: Orlando is not winning 81% of its final games.

No way: no how.

This is probably untrue. If Orlando goes 8-8, the Magic probably catches either Indiana or Chicago (but not both). Thus a 50% win rate take Orlando to the 6th worst team. (Any hope of catching Utah or Portland is fully lost without one of those teams going power-tank to close their season down).

I think the play in door is closed now. It is time to shift focus on to the NBA Draft

Respectfully I TOTALLY disagree. The Magic players have everything to play for. F-Wagner and Banchero still have a lot to learn on the court, and Carter and Fultz will also get major minutes in these last 16 games. For "player development" based tanking, the players Orlando needs to develop are the starters. So: it is time for Orlando to focus on the only thing the team has focussed on all season: getting better.

Yes the Magic is not good, but we fans can take hope that this team is also no longer bad.

Only dreamers believe the Magic reach the play in.
The rest of the programm is too tough.

I'm ready for the Magic to sit out Markelle and try Suggs at PG for the rest of the season. Once Paolo reaches 20 ppg, he can sit, too.

I don't want to reach 7th worst with a couple of wins in the last games. That might be similar to beating Washington in the last game and getting Bamba instead of Trae.

5th is a good spot, and I could see some of the other teams tank hard in the last 15 games.

I'm good (and excited) with what I've seen this season. Let's not be playing Paolo and Fultz 35+ min a night.
Keep them at 20-25 and coast into the offseason. We have enough healthy 2nd and 3rd stingers to get to the finish line.
Mixed up the backcourt too.

I don't know how real the play in hopes ever really were. I think the front office values their 5th best lottery odds than a 10 seed play in game. I have a small conspiracy theory that Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Harris could probably play right now if they had to...

I do like the plan to keep the Aces to below 30 mpg.

Eh, I think it's hyperbole to call losing to a hot, veteran Milwaukee team "horrible". We were also missing 2/5ths of our SL and not having WCj to defend Brook Lopez was clearly problematic. And we could have used Gary Harris' shooting all game. The Bucks couldn't miss and we kept rimming 3s out. Sucks to lose, but a horrible loss it is not IMO.

The Portland loss closed the door but it got cracked when I saw the Bucks were missing their key guys. Getting completely destroyed by them felt like the end of any hope. That said I do not want to tank or start resting guys especially when mathematically we are still alive. If we win 8 of the next 10 we are right back in it. Obviously, that's not going to happen but that's for us fans to say. I want Paolo and Franz to believe we can. I want to establish right now that we don't quit. If you look at the rest of the schedule alot of the teams we play are playing for something so these games should still be some intense basketball. We can't catch the bottom 4 anyway so lets finish strong. There's a lot of good things going for this team.
