Who should be the starting point guard?

Post#1 » by The-Stallion70 » Mon Mar 13, 2023 12:24 am

Harris is the 2 guard this is non negotiable Cole is our next best three point shooter at 34%.

I'm just kind of curious to see where fans stand on this.

Obviously I will take Scoot if we can get him.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Fultz is our best PG for the rest of the season.

Fultz is starting at PG the rest of this season no matter what.

The real question is who should be the starting point guard *next* season.

Fultz is our starting PG this season. End of THAT conversation; barring injury.

If we land the #2 pick then we have our PG of the future in Scoot and move on from Fultz.

If we do not land #2 then things get interesting. I do feel the next star to demand a trade is always around the corner. Perhaps it’s already brewing? If that player happens to be a good fit at guard then perhaps it’s time push in.

The big name that keeps coming up is Trae Young. Most don’t sound happy with that option but it’s the one mentioned most in rumors to demand a trade next. Would Atlanta even talk within the division?

Why is this even a poll? Fultz is my starter next season.

I'm fine with the Magic trying any of the 3 at PG as we approach the end of the season. I'd like to see Suggs start the most

I agree that Fultz starts all games to close out this season, minus load management.

But frankly, if Fultz and Suggs are both in Magic blue next opening night, I will feel like management is failing this team. Orlando must choose. This is just like Oladipo vs. Fournier. It can't be both.

Personally I hope the Magic keep Felt and ship Suggs, but I will be totally fine if it is flipped.

It is insane for me to think Anthony would be the starter on this team next season.

If you wanna bet i am ready.

100 dollars or(euros) all 3 guards they are gonna be on roster next opening night,100% sure.

Atlanta would try a complete season with current roster + snyder,do not think Trae will be available, even if he is not happy.

It's Fultz.

More importantly why is the focus of this board always on Fultz? To question if he should start and have the belief that Gary Harris has to start is BS. Shouldn't the focus be on replacing the 2 guard that only averages 8.6 points a game?

Hey here's a crazy thought. If Cole and suggs play the 1 and 2 together and it's usually Cole at the 1 that would make suggs the 2. So why not try fultz and suggs together in the starting lineup?

Everyone here has a strong belief that play fultz and suggs will fail so let's try it. We are pretty much in tank mode for the last dozen or so games right? Let's see what happens

Gary Harris is shooting 43% from outside on 4.5 attempts.
Right now there is not a guard who can give us that type of production, that type of spacing.

People always complaining of Banchero guarded too much,if you take off Harris from the equation is gonna be even worse.

You can not have in the corner someone who is not reliable from outside, and i mean reliable for real, not for a stretches of games.

We can trade gary harris(or not pick his option),but the starter at one guard spot anyway has to be a + 40% shooter next year.

I think they should experiment with Suggs at starting PG for the remainder of the season. He needs on the job training.

Harris needs to stay.
His shooting is too important.

I'd go for a UK chocolate bar vs. a continental chocolate (assuming that's were you are). That's as much of a high roller as I have ever been here on this board.

p.s. you might be correct, but my views still stand: "I would be disappointed with management". I am sure WeHamm is ok with my disappointment, after all.

They're not playing the same position pretty much at all currently, so I'm not totally sure why it would be a "one must go!" situation between Fultz and Suggs.

The most realistic outcome to me is the Magic acquire a better point guard, Fultz goes and Suggs stays.

Suggs needs to play PG, or we should trade him. He was the #1 PG in his class and should go to a team that wants to train him at that position.

This seems... severe? Silly?

Suggs is under contract for cheap for two more seasons. There's no reason to trade him whatsoever.

Even on the merit of being taken with a 4th pick alone, Suggs shouldn't be going anywhere.
