R.I.P. Felton Spencer

Yesterday, former Orlando Magic player Felton Spencer passed away.

He was acquired from the Utah Jazz to be the starting center after Shaquille O'Neal bolted town for L.A. back in 1996.

However, he would only play one game for The Magic as was then traded to Golden State for Rony Seikaly.

Ironically, Brooks Thompson who also passed away too young was traded to Utah for Spencer. The Magic's 1999 first-round pick also went to Utah with Kenny Gattison who was injured and only previously acquired in hopes of getting a medical exception for him.

Very sad news.

I saw he passed but never knew he was part of our organization even if it were only for a game, prior to 98 the Magic are mostly a blur to me.

As far as I know Felton is the fourth Orlando Magic alum to pass away.

There have actually been five former Magic players who sadly have passed. Sean Rooks passed away in 2016.
