Markelle Fultz

https://twsn.net/2023/04/the-top-10-most-improved-players-of-the-2023-nba-season/2

6.Markelle Fultz – ORL

2021-22 stats: (20.0 MIN, 18 GP) 10.8 PTS, 2.7 REB, 5.5 AST, 47.4 FG%, 23.5 3P%, 80.6 FT%, 17.7 PER

2022-23 stats: (30.1 MIN, 58+ GP) 14.2 PTS, 4.0 REB, 5.8 AST, 51.5 FG%, 31.3 3P%, 78.2 FT%, 16.7 PER

There is no NBA success story more thrilling this year, than that of Markelle Fultz. After entering the league as the highly-touted top selection in the 2017 NBA Draft, Fultz dealt with a whirlwind of injuries, rumors, and turmoil in Philadelphia. Years later, Fultz has fought his way through the storm to become one of the league’s best two-way point guards with the Orlando Magic.

Fultz has averaged 16.5 points, 6.3 assists, and 4.0 rebounds since the All-Star Game, and has rejuvenated an Orlando Magic team that once sat at 5-20 at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. Regardless of how lottery balls fall, make no mistake, the Magic have found their point guard of the future. It is ironic that Fultz has emerged as a fantastic two-way playmaking point guard, and has surpassed 6’10”, 240 lbs. Ben Simmons with sheer heart and will.

Through thoracic outlet syndrome, an ACL tear, and viral videos making fun of his free throw form, Kelle has kept his head down and shown the world why he was viewed as a generational hooper in the first place. Now please enjoy this compilation of Markelle Fultz making his opponents look certifiably silly.

Oh – and have you seen him throwing down dunks the past few games? What did the rim ever do to you Markelle Fultz? I could watch this man hoop every day, and twice on Sundays.

2021-22 season highs: MIN: 29, PTS: 19, AST: 15, REB: 5, STL: 3, FG%: 83.3 (5-6), FGM: 8

2022-23 season highs: MIN: 38, PTS: 28, AST: 10, REB: 10, STL: 6, FG%: 87.5 (7-8), FGM: 11

So you’re telling me that Fultz is who to blame at not having a realistic shot at Wemby…

He’s definitely improved parts of his game and his motor, that’s objective.

Whether he’s improved at those areas enough to continue to be our starting pg is another question (that most of us know the answer to).

That guy does not know anything.

I have been told by all of the so call experts on the board that improvement after 5 years in the league is impossible, that Flutz is useless and that he $ucks.

Whoever says anything else is an idiot.

He's played his way into my top 20 PGs. HIs box score stats are nothing to sneeze at.

Edit: I actually think I'd put him ahead of WCJ in terms of asset value...

I will enjoy the tears of all the haters when Fultz continues as starter and we make the playoffs.

At this point I’m completely comfortable with Markelle being our point guard going forward. Same with Cole and Suggs in their current roles. All 3 work and we have great depth as a result. Back to Markelle, the guy just does do much right. He defends, he’s physically as strong a pg as there is in the entire league, and he can get any shot he wants practically. He knows his strengths and he’s using them. His playmaking has been a great thing for the team. I’m worrying less and less about the 3 ball, he’s a leader and leading this team and it’s starting to become very good.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Franz and Fultz have played the same amount of minutes, yet a lot of people look at Fulz like he is some finished product, it's pretty odd. Dude has shown signs of straight taking over a games(insane blocks, defense, killer midrange, bully ball postups, 60% in cluch time) but all anyone wants to see is curry flinging up 13 threes a game or he isnt good. It's unreal.
