Boom! Well deserved, there wasn’t really any competition in my mind.

It’s so nice to have an identifiable franchise player for the first time in over a decade.

I’m so glad we drafted this guy. He was my third option on draft night. Franz was my 20th the year before. Whoops.

I can’t wait to see how he approaches the off-season. Would love to see him get to 34-36% from three and improve his focus when things aren’t going his way. If he can shoot around 78% on FT he could easily improve to 24 ppg.

There’s no cap on his potential. If he wants it bad enough he could have a hall of fame career.

Again, so happy we drafted this guy.

We know the one Utah guy who put his vote online and got destroyed and then started whining about people being mean to him.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Let's hope those 2 missed first place votes end up fueling him all offseason.

congrats to Paolo!

I watched him quite a bit at Duke. Heck of a player. Was the no-brainer #1 pick.

I'm also a celtics fan and saw how damn good he was (giving his buddy Tatum a tough time) when you guys beat us 3 times.

He's gonna be a VERY good player for a long time. Underrated passer. He just needs to be moire efficient with his shooting and once he does that, yikes- watch out.

He also seems like a good dude. He's confident but not cocky. He's a competitor. Simply loves the game and is driven/determined to be the best player he can be - and carries himself well on and off the court.

You guys got a good one. Enjoy.

Yes!! Its one of those years/class where one guy really showed he is waaaaay ahead of the rest.

Unlike last year when a lot said it shouldve been Mobley/Giddey instead of Barnes, or even the JA/Zion debate, and others...

PB is clear cut above the rest in a strong draft class.

I’ve got good news for you - take out his randomly terrible February shooting and he was 84/252 and 33% from 3 for the season. He’s got the ability!

It was insane how some people really tried pushing the narrative for the other two guys. Kessler, for example, had a very good rookie year and looks like a long term contributor for the Jazz. But by the criteria defined by every ROY winner ever, Paolo was the winner, running unopposed. You can't start throwing out all kinds of handpicked stats to claim that player b, who is producing way less than player a, should win a major award. That's something you do when the candidates are neck and neck and you need to determine who has the edge. I appreciate efficiency and positive contributions on the court, but you can find plenty of role players across the league who fit that description, it's not some magical thing all by itself.

Long story short and unnecessary rant notwithstanding, good job by Paolo and the Magic.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.
