Paul George?

Post#1 » by mattdelray1220 » Wed May 10, 2023 2:01 pm

You think the FO would call about Paul George? He is veteran leader who can play the 2/3. I know he has injury issues which is why I could be convinced to stay away but maybe he is our big swing? We would have to trade probably both picks + harris + let Isaac walk or not resign Moe to free up the space. He only has a few years left on his deal.

I'd rather trade up to get Wemby. Also we have cap space. So I hope we can add some other star

I dont think Wemby is attainable. Would have to be both picks plus Paolo. PG is one of very few stars I believe that can be had this offseason for a reasonable price.

I think Leonard is more realistic, he also has injury concerns.

Paul George is a 3. Franz also plays three. How could that work?

George can also play the 2.

but his injury issues, just look at his games played over the last 4 years. and he still has 2 more years at around $47mil/year. no, that is something even worse than the IBaka/Dipo trade imo

Agreed. Between Suggs, Isaac, Fultz, Okeke and possibly Paul Goerge, we would have to rename from Orlando Magic to Orlando DNP

George is injured all the time, especially when it matters, so it's a big NO.

He would be a great fit at the 2, but his injury history, age and contract are a bit much.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

The trade would be something like Banchero, Suggs, both Magic's FRP and the Denver pick for the overall #1.

That's not going to happen.

George would be a 1-year rental on a 45M price tag. Orlando probably doesn't have the appropriate package here. I guess Suggs, Harris, Isaac and a FRP might be the salary balance. But that doesn't make sense for either team.

As to Leonard, it is the same cost on the same rental for one year.

Zero chance in hell Paul George goes to a rebuilding Orlando at his age. Besides, who here truly wants to pay $30-40 million for an aging part time player?

Where do you think Wemby's trade value is league wide?
He's gotta be up there.

1. Jokic
2. Doncic
3. Giannis
4. SGA
5. Tatum

Paolo has to be somewhere around top 10-15 highest trade value in the league.

So if we were to get lucky in the draft would you move the #1 overall pick for any of those guys straight up, knowing they don't have nearly as many years of team control and at least this list are all making real money.

I probably would for any of the top 4. I do have some bias, probably would consider moving one of my young children for Jokic, starting to think he is the best player I have ever seen, and i grew up a Magic fan in the nineties and saw my share of Bulls games. The Nuggets close out of the Suns the other night, almost couldn't tell i was watching basketball. Looked like ultimate frisbee or something. SGA, Paolo, Franz... abso-freaking-lutely....Or Paolo, Franz, Wemby....sounds like an unbeatable team for a decade

I don't know...if you were OKC would you move SGA for Wemby. That's an interesting one. I don't know...I might slot Wemby in right there at 6 behind those guys....but maybe i am getting swept up by the hype. Four days until we find out what team gets the golden ticket.

I think this team has had too many injured talent over the years. PG isn’t the picture of health these days. He’s elite talent, but he’d only play 55 games and be hurt during the playoffs. I think adding a young 2 guard to mesh with the core already in place is better.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

This is not realistic at all. The timelines don't match.

Maybe if this team was further along in progression.... Like if we were 4th/5th seed then maybe PG might elevate us further but now? It would feel like we're wasting his prime years not really competing
