DAL Receives: WCJ + G. Harris + Future SRP or 2
ORL Receives: 10 + Choice of Bertans or THJ
DAL gets a starting center and solid 3&D guard that can fit in between Luka and Kyrie whenever one sits. The future SRP(s) are a throw in. We literally don't have any so would be nice to have some for future trades. Can remove if a deal breaker.
ORL gets the 10th pick. You can either draft or make a very appealing offer to package with 1 or 2 of your other picks to move up. Perhaps trade with POR who may want multiple picks to get multiple players from different teams. You can choose between Bertans or THJ. Bertans has an early 5 mil termination next season so if you want to have more cap and stretch him, he's your guy. If you want to compete, THJ is a good vet and shooter for your team.

My line of thinking was that you may be able to move up by consolidating those picks and then grab Scoot or Miller. Then sign Vuc as a replacement short term stop gap C. A Scoot, Franz and Paulo trio would be insane.
But yeah you're probably right. Appreciate your feedback!

We aren't going to send Wendell to Dallas for the 10th pick. That would be a huge step backward.pepe1991 wrote:basketballRob wrote:I think Dallas would have to send a pick for someone to take Bertan's contract. Orlando doesn't really need any more picks.

Not really.
10th pick is valuable for Dallas ,they went in great lenghts to secure it.
And Bertans contract is nowhere near as bad as you make it sound.
He has $17M for 2023-24, yes, it hurts.
BUT his contract is only $5M guaranteed in 2024-25. Only way how it becomes guranateed is if he plays 62 games.
So for Dallas it's easy. Just DNP-CD him for 20 games and you are saved from that disaster. You just have to swallow crap for one more year

Bertans at $17m next season is terrible value. He's had two ACL injuries, and he only plays 50% of the time.pepe1991 wrote:basketballRob wrote:We aren't going to send Wendell to Dallas for the 10th pick. That would be a huge step backward.pepe1991 wrote:

I never said i would make trade with them, i just pointed out they don't need to dump pick to get rid of Bertans
I would only do this if there was a plan to package picks to get a established guy. Like of we were trading 6 and 11 to BRK for Bridges then do your trade to still have a first rounder to add another player. I would not bring 3 rookies on the team. I really don't even want 2. On the Dallas side I think its cool but Im not sure WCjr moves the needle enough especially of Kyrie leaves. Honestly if Im Dallas unless a really really good trade emerges I would just roll the dice and take BPA and hope.Maverick41 wrote:Mavs fan, coming in peace. If we trade Harris and the 11th pick for Simons, how does the Dallas pick get involved?drsd wrote:Maverick41 wrote:Mavs fan, coming in peace. Just wondering, what do Magic fans think of the following:

Orlando does not want two rookies in its 6+11 (actually three with the high SRP); management has talked about trade ideas publicly. Adding the 10 would be undesirable for the Magic.
Also, Carter is more valuable to Orlando than a mid-lottery pick and a backup wing.
What might make sense is Orlando trading G-Harris and the 11 for Hardaway and a future FRP, say top-10 protected. Then Dallas would have the 10 and 11 as a trade package to go after a wing upgrade.
