The “what if” 2024 NBA Draft idea

Post#1 » by three3d » Fri Jul 14, 2023 9:52 pm

Have some fun with this and predict the FO will draft some tall lengthy prospect with great wingspan lol. Or predict who you think they would be looking at based off what we have now and what we need. I’ll go bold and hopeful and say what if, we drafted Bronny James and LeBron joins him in Orlando and leads us to our first ever NBA Championship. It’s not a secret LeBron would really want to play a season beside his son on the same team. I’d reach in the draft for him with the hopes his dad follows through and joins, after all it’s not like we’ve never reached before in the draft lol.

Eh... the only player (for now) that Im looking at in the 24 draft is Tyler Proctor. A 6'5 PG that strangely enough looks like Black but can shoot it from 3. I had him peg around late teens or 20s which I predict is where we will pick because we in the POS baby!!!!

Wait a second we have a trade to announce, the Orlando Magic have traded the 30th pick for a future second round pick AND cash consideration

I wouldn't have minded Filipkowski this year. I definitely wouldn't mind him next year if we're in a position to draft him. He could go top 10 or slip down into the late teens.

Is next year a good draft class? I think I read somewhere it'll be a down year unless a couple guys from 2025 reclassify.

I am tired of the draft.

I think we should try to get Derozan to persuade his daughter to attend our games.

Im probably the resident Duke homer here but even I can say "MEH" . We need a Ryan Anderson in our lineup?

Well we know that we still need 3pt shooting and interior defense.

I don't see him as an Anderson type at all. Not near the shooter. Better shot blocker and better all-around scorer. Now, if we do have a chance to take a Ryan Anderson clone, I would be all aboard that train. He was a flawed player, but adding a shooter like that would do wonders for our roster.

Trade it right now for a guy who will help render it worthless

Should be a good amount of solid center prospects in next years draft.

If we are a playoff team, may be a good opportunity to sure up a legitimate back up center who can develop into a starting center to prepare for WCjr salary ending and us being priced out of retaining him.

I dunno. We will see this next season but better shot-blocker and scorer? Yeahhh.... no. He gets pushed around and away from the paint by undersized but physical guys. I dunno about his wingspan and vertical jump but I don't think players get scared when they take it to him.

2025, the next 1984 draft.

It's crazy, Cooper Flagg and Cameron Boozer class of 25, both supposed to be the best prospects since Wemby, both have twin brothers. There is a glitch in the matrix with these prospects on the way.

Will be curious if Flagg transfers to 2024, he has a december birthday, there could be some teams that see a pretty easy race to the bottom with all the teams competing this year. Its also possible all 4 of these twins end up at Duke. No idea if the other twins are any good.

Actually, Flagg has to reclassify to be in the 2025 draft. He's currently in the 2026. He's barely old enough to be in the 2025 draft.
