I still don't know if these games are part of the regular season record or separate.

They're part of the regular season schedule. The championship game is not.

We can all agree that many teams "go through the motions" in some mid-season games. On outcome of this Cup, is that teams are more inclined to play-hard in these four games.

These game in particular are unlikely to see "load management"

As for the Championship game, winning equals 500k per player and losing (i.e. coming second in the Cup) comes with 200k. So: for this game, one would think that the 300k uplift for winning over losing will in itself make the game competitive.

Most of nba goes through a motions during whole regular season

That's why you have those +50 points games every night, guy goes supernova, nobody still doubles him down, teams don't care, they follow they game scheme to a fault, and hardly any defense is played through 1-3 quaters. Sometimes whole game.

Nets- Suns had 153-121 regular season game. Can anybody with straight face tell you that any team attemped to defend? at average 6 points were scored per min

Nets on 121:
29/53 on two-ball = 54.7%
11/28 on three-ball = 39.3%
eFG% = 56.2%
PLUS
30/33 from charity strip = 90.1%

Suns on 153:
36/53 on two-ball = 67.9%
20/41 on three-ball = 48.8%
eFG% = 70.2%
PLUS
21/25 from charity strip = 84%

To recap, that means a leather ball was thrown at a metal ring 233 times, and the leather ball went inside the metal ring 147 times in those attempts. All in 48 minutes. That means leather ball went INSIDE the metal ring 3.1 times per minute played.

The cumulative eFG% was 63.7% PLUS 51 made FTs at a 87.9% rate.

So the games that are played in this tournament, do they count towards the regular season record? Because if not then teams and players will tank it.

I asked the same, others have said it counts towards regular season (except I think championship game). So it helps for sure. I personally think players will buy in to the tournament at least for a few years. Whether it'll last we'll see.

Going to be at that Toronto game as it’s when I’ll be in Orlando on vacation. Can’t wait.
