I can't believe we'll get a preseason with Jonathan Isaac and Markelle Fultz. So excited for those two.

If Black is still considered part of our "deep bench" by November I will be shocked.
He's going to play Anthony right out of the rotation. His defensive intangibles and ability to read the floor will have far more impact on a team looking to take that next step and start winning games then whatever it is that Cole does.
SL was not a good setting for a player like him. He's going to shock alot of people early on with how skilled he actually is.

We shall see. I'm not nearly as confident in this as you are about this, and this is coming from someone who likes Anthony Black a lot.
Cole Anthony was *really* good in the role they had him play last year. I think you're underselling how important he was to the Magic's success last season.

Gonna buy the entire season of League Pass. Anyone have a coupon or something to share?
Really looking forward to this season and seeing what Coach MMA can do with our roster and a green-light.

Or roster is starved for points and Black is a couple seasons away from being that guy.
The only way he overtakes Anthony is if Anthony is traded, which I hope if that happens that it's to NYC or some great situation for him.

His size, defense, playmaking, off ball movement, and IQ are really going to set him apart from Cole. I'm very excited to see how he contributes. If he's not in the rotation right away I'll be shocked.

We are still 2 weeks away from real stuff. First preseason games weren't very entertaining, starters playing 9-12 -17 min max.
I watched Dallas- Wolves and it was slugfest.

This preseason exists to answer some questions though.
1) Will G-Harris or Suggs start at SG?
2) Is M-Wagner of Bitadze the rotational C as a primary backup?
3) Should the Magic waive Okeke or Houstan to free up a roster spot?
Beyond that, most of the offensive and defensive sets are actually worked on in practice and I agree that this won't really be on display the first couple of per-season games.
As one example: whether the Magic is making or missing their three-ball in preseason cannot translate to regular-season expectations.

Maybe later preseason games, once teams play rotations with more focuse

but what a hell are you gonna learn form games with literally 20 men rotation

Yeah I don’t know if it’s because people hate that he shut them up but I don’t understand why his impact is being undervalued. AB needs to worry about playing himself onto the court before we even come close to talking about who he’s playing off the court, unless they aren’t serious about winning.

Cole can shoot, Black can’t. This skill is going to be much more important in our lineup right now.
