Trade Target: James Harden?

Post#1 » by Skin » Wed Oct 11, 2023 6:29 pm

The timing is perfect now for us to get James Harden. He's set on not reporting. The Sixers don't have a lot of offers. Price tag is high, but unlikely crazy high. We have a lot of young assets that still hold value (they might not for long). It's clearly in the mind of our veteran players, that they feel like they are a playoff type team, and getting Harden would solidify that movement. Getting him is not the sexiest name these days. Beal and Dame would've been my personal preference, but Harden may actually be the most ideal.

Should we get James Harden? If you voted yes, what is your trade package? If you voted no, why not?

A trade centered around AB, Harris, and a future protected pick is all I could get behind if we wanted to go all in. I really dislike Harden’s professionalism so it’s hard for me to even want to give up that much if I’m being honest.

I know... part of me feels the same... but outside of personal preference, this starting 5 can contend for a championship imo

Probably an impossible trade to be honest.
I don't think you could construct a real trade that would be of equal value and money

It's an interesting thing to think about, but I can't imagine it's realistic. He wouldn't want to sign back with the Magic, so I think you'd only be trading for a one year rental. Unless the Magic think plugging Harden in would result in a championship, I can't see them even thinking about trading for Harden.

Still fun to think about it.

He's toxic. Forced a trade in Houston, BKN and now Philly. I dont him or his attitude anywhere near the young guys. He's still a very good offensive player, but the defense is worse than ever. He's 34 and still thinks he's worth the max.

Gotta go with no on trading for the beard. Next season he’d demand a trade just like he has his last 3 teams. He’s apparently only interested in getting another scoring title. Our young team is on the way up, we DO need a two guard, but Hardens not that guy.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

He really trashed his career and legacy.
On court, on offense he is still incredible player but his behavior and offcourt stuff is just too much.

People only reform their behaviour if theres some kind of incentive to do it (or punishment for not doing it). Harden has been able to amass a fortune while behaving outrageously unprofessionally.

Whats in it for him to change? Nobody is holding him to account and u can be sure Orl doesnt have the weight to be the bad cop.

It would be a disaster, even if hed be exactly what we needed on court.

He has out-Kyried Kyrie...pass.

so talented...but, I'd rather have an angry competitive Westbrook than a massive disruption like Harden - just wondering when he decides to blow us up each day.

if Harden couldnt contend with Durant, he definitely isnt contending years later with this team

Talent wise ... For sure.

Personality and team building wise ... He personifies everything that this team doesn't want to be. Lol

So no.

Well they won 47 games, 2nd in the conference and went to the finals. I'd say he contended with Durant.
