In the releasee for The Magic's TV Schedule, it says..........

Dante Marchitelli is back reporting from the sideline and hosting "Magic Live" pregame, postgame and halftime coverage. Marchitelli, in his 25th year covering the Magic, will also fill in for Steele as the play-by-play announcer for select broadcasts this season.

This leads me and likely others to believe that Dante Marchitelli has been selected as David Steele's successor when he decides to retire and the start of a transition period.

My guess is it's a few seasons down the line but this stood out in the release.

Whoa, big shoes to fill

Steele cannot retire until we win a championship. I know the championship games have different broadcasters but if we are even close, I want Steele to be the one to call it.

Hasn't Steele been calling games, I dunno, forever? Since day one.

I know he goes as far back as Mr (don't cancel me) Goose.

I believe Steele used to broadcast Magic games since 89 on the radio until becoming TV play by play, before that broadcasting the Florida Gators. Got to imagine he is getting ready to retire soon. I'm fine with Dante.

Here is a name, Ryan Anderson. He hosted the recent Magic former players 35 year anniversary event. He might be on the pipeline.

Since day 1. It will be sad to see him retire.

I love David Steele and Jeff Turner. Easily one of the best duos in the league. But, they're going to retire at some point. Would love a Dante and SVG combo in the future.

I like Dante as a person but going from David Steele to Dante is a huge downgrade.
