Poll: final thoughts on win outcomes for 2023/24

The ESPN computers has Orlando on 38 wins in its final computations. And Caesars has the Magic on 37.5 wins for the over/under betting line.

Is that right, too low or too high?

THe ESPN final rankings has Orlando at 21: link: Orlando Magic predicted at 38-44

... which, by the way, is predicted at the play-in 10-seed.

I like being projected for the play-in.

As we're currently constructed, I think we can hold all but the very best offensive teams to manageable scores. I just have grave reservations about our ability to then outscore that number.

We'll be hardworking, competitive and team-first. But our ball movement, scoring volume and scoring efficiency is just not up there yet to make a big rankings jump.

38-40 wins, if Franz stays healthy throughout.

Pivotal for our record will be health of Wendell.

We have no backup C , and we especially don't have backup C capable of playing starter's min.

And-1

M-Wagner is a competent offensive player that is a traffic cone on defense. And Bitadze is a really good defensive player that is a lead weight on offense (can't the dude set screens at least; come on!).

Definitely will be a factor.

However, if we can use Isaac and Paolo interchangeably at the 4 and 5 depending on match up, that would make things a little less detrimental.

I think 38-42 wins. Voted 39+ wins

I agree...that could be an unexpected (but sensible) direction for some kind of swap when we thin the guard herd. If it's not going to be a blockbuster, it could still be tactically solid...I also hope to see Isaac there in limited minutes-matchup dependent.

My final guess is 43-39. My instinct says higher but I'm just hyped. When trying to be realistic, we are still very young and that will cause some headaches. My +9 increase in wins is factoring in better health, since when healthy we were around a .500 team last season, as well as a likely more consistent defense (increase in Suggs minutes, possible JI presence and subtraction of Bol and Bamba).

Official prediction is 39 wins.

Will be tightly watching for a 50+ win pace though.

39,40 sounds about right.

I like 43-39.

Orlando will have some interesting wins and some disgusting losses. The reality is that this is still a TO prone, young team. And Ingles alone cannot shore up Orlando's most obvious deficit: distance shooting.

Wins will come on the defensive side of the ball.

40-ish wins seems right. It's all going to depend on how many key injuries we sustain compared to other (east) teams, anyway.

My not so bold prediction for the season:

65+ wins
Paolo wins the MVP
Franz wins the Finals MVP
Suggs wins the DPOY

I think we can win 40+ games this season. Franz Wagner is that good. I think that we are better than 2020 Grizzlies.

Assuming we remain relatively healthy, my prediction is 43-39. We were a .500 ball club the last 2/3 of the season. I see no reason to think we won't be in that same ballpark this year barring unexpected player regression or injuries.

I don't think we can afford injury to any one of Paolo, Franz, WCJ or Cole if we are to reach 38+ wins.
