final depth chart predictions for orpening night?

Post#1 » by drsd » Tue Oct 24, 2023 9:01 am

So: Suggs started all "three" pre-season games, and M-Wagner always had more minutes than Bitadze.

For me that makes this the near-certain ten-man rotation tomorrow. Correct?

Fultz/Anthony
Suggs/G-Harris
F-Wagner/Ingles
Banchero/Isaac
Carter/M-Wagner

Yes
Well balanced roster

Fultz/Anthony/ black (he is a few yrs away)
Suggs/G-Harris/Jett (I can see him get many SG black up minutes by the end of the year)
F-Wagner/Ingles/Caleb (garbage minutes at SF )
Banchero/Isaac/chuma (might be his last year with us)
Carter/M-Wagner/goga (will play more minutes depending on opposing center)

Fultz/Anthony
Suggs/G-Harris
F-Wagner/Ingles
Banchero/Isaac
Carter/M-Wagner
Suggs, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, Jett
Franz, TDS,
P5, JI, Panda
Wcj, Goga, Moe

Did JI get any minutes with PB? I don't recall.

I would hope that the preseason is not an indication of actual rotation because it was way too complete 5 replacements. Want to see JI with Paolo and Franz with the backups. I am hoping they did it to keep the starters minutes down
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

I don’t see Harris just vanishing from the rotation. Mose rode pretty heavy with him before, presumably at the expense of “development”. He’s a trusted solid proven piece, regardless of what tomorrow’s rotation looks like. I expect he’ll play a fair amount, leading to a trade, assuming Suggs doesn’t regress in the starting spot. Harris should have trade value, both as an expiring and a proven reliable 3&D guy…play him enough to keep up his visibility, then send him out as part of a consolidation move to get some clarity in our backcourt (imo).

It’s either a mess or an embarrassment of riches…I’d like to see Black get some time with Cole, but that makes Harris 5th guard (which is okay) and limits Jett to deep logjam at SF. Ingles will play, Franz will play a LOT. Isaac, historically, plays at 3-but that’s unlikely now.

I fully expect Harris to be moved, but unless it’s some throwaway, infuriating, ‘do right by our guys’ garbage trade to DEN for a srp :banghead: we need to figure out who’s not here for the long haul and package for an actual player that can contribute to our core.

Fultz, Black
Suggs, Cole, Harris
Franz, Ingles, Jett
Paolo, Isaac
WCJ, Moe(also 4), Goga

Orlando is not gonna run a 13 man rotation.

I'm not that hopeful my prediction will come true, but it seems the most rational choice and I want to believe our team is rational.

Dont Insult Harris like that lol Duhon is by far one of THE WORST rotation players we have ever had.

Title says DEPTH CHART...or meant to

I agree with the general consensus but no way do I expect Harris, Jett, and Black to be completely out of the rotation. They're not red-shirting.

All of these guys will likely get some minutes...not every night but a handful of them will be single digit mins. Much depends on how well we look, how they limit Isaac, whether Ingles hits a wall, and who's making shots...there's a lot of (pretty good) talent here, I hope they're ready to play the guys that make shots and make plays and drive the rotation towards a consolidation move. Hard to believe Houstan and Okeke aren't even under deep bench consideration here- Maybe we're getting better.

Starters: Fultz, Suggs, Franz, Paolo, WCJ

Cole will be the 1st backup for both guard spots.

If Isaac is healthy he's obviously will be the main backup for the F/C spot.

Moe/Ingles/G-Harris/Goga will round out the rest of the main rotation, depending on match-ups.

So that's an 11 man rotation, which gives them flexibility depending on match-ups.

Jett/Black/Houstan will get a few minutes here and there, plus garbage time minutes. They might join the rotation if there's injuries, which always happen.

Okeke will be "there".

Markelle/Cole/Black/Kevon
Jalen/Gary/Jett (flip/flop)/Queen
Franz/Joe/Caleb (flip/flop)
Paolo/JI/Chuma/Admiral
Wendell/Mo/Goga (I want Goga to be the backup big)

How are any of these players going to get any minutes is beyond me.
