These two losses are depressing, tell me one positive thing you like so far about this team...

Hey, we knew this road trip would be a tough one, and these last two games weren't the greatest experience. We played against two very experienced team with at least 2 or 3 all NBA players on their side. So tell me one thing that you like about this team so far... This post is simply to remind ourselves why we are so excited about this season...

I'll give you mine...last season the team had a problem with constantly finding themselves down in the first half and have to fight their way through to win, but they had better starts these past 4 games. It's growth! It's great to see that they are learning that if they want a chance to win a game, they can't come out flat every time. :)

Many may not see this as a positive but I like the fact that we are 2-2 ... because it was fully expected that we'd lose to the two teams on the road who are better than us and have dominant star players

Well for me I have two...Team plays hard virtually all the time and we have a lot of defensive versatility on the roster. Now it is just a matter of building a cohesive rotation so that we can make it work consistently.

Jalen Suggs. Franchise caliber heart and hustle player. He will win us some big games in the future, no doubt.

The consistant part is our defense, it is indeed on a good level and sustainable. Suggs looks solid as a starting SG. Paolo and Franz will shoot better. So is WCJ. Every offseason as a fan you get pumped and raise expectations, then comes a reality check. We are getting better, just not to the level of the top teams yet. Can't skip steps, our realistic goal this season is a 50% mark and play-in.

I like that ESPN has us 7th in the East in their power rankings. I love our defense. I love how good Suggs is playing.

Pace seems to be up. Ball movement is generally better.

Yeah, typical Magic board.

We beat 2 teams we were supposed to beat rather convincingly. And we lost to 2 teams that are title contenders on the road. One of them went down to the last seconds. That is a major step up compared to the last few years.

The Magic are a top 5 defense and their offense likely will get better as the season progresses once everyone gets more comfortable in the offense and their roles.

I don't understand how there is doom and gloom when your best players haven't even played well yet and your offense has been atrocious and you're still competing on most nights. That's a massive positive once they do figure it out offensively.

Relax yall...

The Lakers loss was great. Nothing to complain about.

The Clippers loss hurts a little more, but our 1/2 options have entering year 3 and 2. It's all good. Hate to see a blowout loss like that, but at least our boy Black got to touch the floor.

I do not see either as "moral victories" as they are both losses. Yet as a Orlando Magic fan, I have to like the flashes I see.

The Magic is +4 ppg in its 2-2 record. Why? The Magic has the lowest opponent scoring line in the NBA.

Teams are shooting -0.6% overall and -3.9% with their three-ball. And in this, the Magic is not the worst offensive team. The Magic is 23rd in the league in scoring.
This couples to Orlando being 11th in points differential.

Orlando is currently the 18th best team in FG%.

The Magic has a horror of a three-ball at 30.7%. This is offset by the Magic getting to the FT line the third best in the NBA. Getting the FT percentage up, and this team will continue its improvement from bad to mediocre.

One positive nobody has mentioned: we are among the top10 in offensive rebounding

I'm LOVING Suggs' energy and defense...I'm also encouraged that he's not afraid to shoot - that's not a small thing on the way to actually making some

I'm ok with 2-2 generally speaking...there's obviously a few concerns but the sun is shining and Isaac is walking upright.

ESPN power-ranking has the Magic at #16. Sounds exactly correct to me!

I love our blue jerseys, the whole retro thing brings so much nostalgia and I'll definitely open up my wallet for that so i need to make a trip soon to the arena to get me one. Oh and the fact Orlando still has a team.

Happy Jalen improved to a starting calibre player. The lack of spacing he provides is already compensated by his defense.

Talking about spacing, offense seems a lot easier for our second unit since Gary and Jingles are lurking the perimeter.
Moe can operate the paint relatively unhinged by help-defenders and Cole should be able to get to his shooting spots all season.

Up to this point every rotation player (except Gary Harris) is shooting the three ball worse (percentage wise) than last season.
I have no doubt these numbers will go up.

Paolos all-around defense has improved, again. Up to a point where I would call him an average defensive player.
...and I appreciate him immediately running back after missed shots.

Team is doing fine... though from a fan standpoint, every loss still hurts.

We have Dogs in the starting line up who don't quit and the defense is legit

Nothing wrong AT ALL at starting 2-2. I'm a bit concerned with some of the stuff going on but this was expected to be an evaluation year so I'm trying to take it in stride. Things are starting to come into focus a bit but we'll need more time before coming to conclusions. The only thing I'm certain about is that Fultz can't be part of the future. Everything else is still too fuzzy to definitively state.

The losses were depressing not the season. The positives are to remind me why I am excited. Not doom or gloom but a reminder of why we have been waiting for 6 months to watch Magic ball.
