I do not have the exact numbers or on/off statistics but we are obviously a different team without them. Like, VERY different. We have lost 8 of our last 11 games.

I suppose this is what happens when you put together a team with little to no offense in the backcourt during a time in the NBA when it is an offensive player's league. The Magic can't keep trying to build from the defensive side of the ball when so many of the rules have been changed to benefit offensive players. I believe that It does not pay to build exclusively from the defensive side of the ball today because it takes too much effort to play that kind of elite defense possession after possession and it can lead to injury.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Honestly it is more our investment towards often injured players then anything else. Which didn't you start a thread about that some point?

I checked, that was fortune teller.

I'm not in any kinda panic mode yet. Injuries happen and Isaac well.....he is the injury list. December - January are supposed to be brutal parts of the season. So combining this with injuries, I am not surprised at the outcome so far.

Let's see how the injury list looks by next game and enjoy the ride. Seems like that is more of a factor in our destiny then otherwise. My old school formula was P+F and anything that resembles an NBA point guard should be a .500 team. So lets see where this goes.

They would really help but so would Fran Vasquez :banghead:

Can’t always get what you want. I think this is Isaac’s last go in ORL. Sadly

during our big win streak, we were raving about possibly having the best bench in the league. Without those two, we just have an OK-at-best bench.

It's depressing. Will we ever have our full squad fully healthy and available to play at the same time (or well, the top-10 rotation)? Those first four games of the season or whatever it was while we were still figuring things out don't count.

Their is a thin line between being a really good team and being mediocre. Issac, Ingles, Moe, and Cole were the best bench in the league when healthy.

This. When healthy this team is dangerous and very deep, but a lot of that depth has been out consistently the last month. Just gotta wait for some of them to get healthy.

Obviously we’re going thru our toughest patch of the season at our least healthiest. It sucks but I don’t think it’s an indictment of how bad our team is, because a healthy Magic team was near the top of the league just 3 weeks ago. Obviously getting Ingles and Issac back will help tremendously but so will a fully healthy Fultz and WCJ. At full strength this team can beat anybody and I think we’ll see that team again in February and finish strong again.

Hope we get healthier soon. but.... yup... agreed. Fultz, Sugg, Franz, Banchero, and WCJ was one of our best lineups last season. Started off slowly this season.... but once they are healthy and clicking again... mingled with the bench... things can still be bright this season.

Reason why Magic got and kept majority of those players, on somewhat okey contract is because they are very injury prone.

Fultz- former 1# pick-traded away due injuries.
Isaac- guy who had potential to be all nba first team- got partially guaranteed contract- due injuries.
Wendell- former lottery pick traded as asset - due injury.
Ingles- had major, major injury two years before joining Orlando
Harris- was considered done before trade to Magic.

Those players have fat medical record for 5+ years ( minus Ingles, he is just old ).

Isaac in particular, missed most potential games in nba by wide margin, if you go back and use his games played vs potential games played if he was healthy, he probably is, with Oden, the most injury prone player of past 30 years. And , as usual, heis already missing 40% of aveliable games this year. It's just reality with him. He will never be reliable player.

Will the Magic trade or waive Isaac before the Wednesday deadline?

They will keep Isaac until the end of the year...hoping and praying and lighting candles...finally, they will waive him this summer.

This doesn't make me happy at all, but it's reality time.

It’s time we move on from some of our often injured players.

1st 2 - Fultz and Harris. Invest that money into Malik Monk or someone similar.

My goal was for JI to play a majority of games this season. I see that at risk but still possible. JI needs to sign a much more favorable contract for the Magic.

Need to see more from WCJ but he would be on the hot seat next.

Ingles is old. Hopefully he sticks around and becomes a coach at some point.

Is there a deadline to waive his deal before next year becomes fully guaranteed? It could be a very valuable trade chip in the off season to bring someone in if the team bringing him in can just waive him for the cap space

They could waive him by Wednesday and only pay him $7.4m this season, or They could waive him next season by January 10th and only pay him $7.4m.

I thought his whole salary for next year was non-guaranteed...? I can't see them waiving him this week unless there's some huge unlikely deal where that would be a factor or something medically became more significant. I can't imagine they don't waive him this summer (assuming my understanding is correct) if the second half of the season doesn't look a lot different than the first is looking.

And-1

Orlando was winning games via depth. When 7 players are benched, by defiition, the team is not deep.

That said: Queen has stepped up. Talk about taking an opportunity!
