Isaac’s contract becomes fully guaranteed
Issac had been playing on a partially guaranteed deal ($7.6 million) before this week’s NBA contract-guarantee deadline.
Although the league lists the deadline as Jan. 10, which is Wednesday, Isaac’s contract already has become fully guaranteed for $17.4 million this season.
Per league rules, players have to be waived by Jan. 7 to clear waivers by Jan. 10 or their contracts becomes fully guaranteed. The Magic did not waive anyone on Sunday, meaning Isaac’s contract is fully guaranteed.
Had Orlando waived Isaac, it would have opened a standard contract spot.

I think we have until January 10th of 2025 to decide if we want to fully guarantee 2025. It was the same last season.

Naturally. What would we have used the money on this year anyways?

Agree, I am much higher on this upcoming FA class versus last years.

If Isaac had a window towards relevancy I would take it.
I don't see the crack in the window that the brass at the Magic see.
Yet fully guaranteed he is. Carry on.

Who do you like?
KCP, Tyus Jones, Monk, Claxton, Hield, Hayward, Saddiq Bey, GTJ, Grayson Allen
I think a lot of those names could be had for "cheap" too.

I really don't...KCP's not leaving DEN for "cheap", same with Grayson or Monk...I love Claxton, but he'll get 18-20. All depends on your idea of cheap. Every playoff team would love to pick off Tyus for srps...but he'll expect $15+.

We can have $40m in cap room (I think - not a cap nerd but I think I've read that). If you can fit Hield and Monk into that then we're cooking.

Front office has to give him a more useful role on this team next season giving his salary and caution he's been on this season! It would be amazing he hit the weight room hard and turns in Giannis like this summer!

Its a shame to have so much cap space and only sign role players. But thats how it is nowadays as a small market team. Cap space is kind of overrated. If only we wouldve used ours on FVV last summer.

I agree, but I suggest those two acquisitions on the basis that Paolo and Franz are 'the guys' and so it's more about fitting around them than it is trying to get a third star in.
I do also think we need a better fit short-term at PG as well, though I am hoping we can address that at the deadline. I think long term Black is the starter and Cole the back up (I think Fultz's time is up at the end of the year if he's not moved in Feb), but for now neither Black or Fultz are ideal starting PGs if we want to try and be competitive in the post-season this year.
