Woj: Jamahl Mosley Signs a 4-Year Contract Extension

Well deserved!

This outlives every contract on the team.

Paolo will be in year 2 of his extension, Franz and Suggs in year 3 of their extensions. AB and Jett in year 1 of their extensions.

His main focus during these next four seasons will be on coaching a perennial playoff contender. If we are clear contenders by year four, he'll get another extension.

When was the last time we hired and extended a head coach? I could be wrong, but I believe every coach since Stan Van Gundy was hired and fired (or quit): Vaughn, Borrego, Skiles, Vogel, Clifford.

It's a good sign of a franchise achieving some level of stability. Mose more than earned it. Good for him, good for the team, and a marker of success and a team moving in the right direction.

More money and stability means more expectation, but he has us in an enviable position no matter how many debates we have. Let's get some more weapons and chill at the top of the East for a few years, that'd be nice.

I'm a stinker. Coaches are like tissue paper. Means nothing.

In before the "overperform", "fire mose", "ect ect" when our leadership fails to aquire talent and he just continues to play the hand he is dealt.

The best thing for Mose is that he's getting every nickel of this contract even if he gets fired in a year :lol:

I'm not unhappy but it's a little early.
I'd have waited another 3 months to see how he does in the playoffs.

I do like Jamahl though.

I like the timeline on the extension. Mosely has some time to prove he can be a playoff coach for a good team, which he has earned.
