Heard this suggested by Kravitz on the radio, would fans like to bring in Paul George on a two year deal for $100M?
22.6 ppg 3.5 apg 5.2 rpg 47.1 fg% 41.3 3pt%

Yes, I'd do it. His on ball offense and shot making will take this team to the next level. Could be like the CP3 addition to Phoenix Suns. I really like it

Player or Team option for the 2nd year?
Either way.. tempting. We have his best 2 years left before he drops skill/health/whatever wise

Of course I'd do this.
But George says no.
Why take 2/100 when Philly will give you 4/200?

Because Embiid is old and busted and our team is the new hotness?

For $100M more guaranteed Paul George will play in Siberia.

The fact that Embiid is injury prone is exactly why Philly would offer 4 years. Embiid has 2 years left on his contract, and the Sixers cant afford to be cheap. This is a huge offseason for them, and they will try to build the best team possible around Embiid.

You can put the play-in game in April too and then he seems a bit less good.

Realistically speaking, how many "elite" season does Embiid have left? Seasons that make him play 65+ games each?
You would think the next 2 years is whats left of his peak career. After that, ita Maxey gonna carry the 2 washed out players in Embiid and PG.
Thus i dont think they give PG 4 years. Maybe 2 plus a team option for 1 more year.

I think it has nothing to do with how many years Joel Embiid has left. It more has something to do with 76ers are all in with this window and want to build a contending team. I think this is reasonable that they going after PG. But I doubt they offer him a 4 year contract

Same here. They want PG to go all in with emerging Maxey and Embiid in life support. Thus they cant give a 4 year deal cuz Embiid might have nothing left after 2 years.
PG and Maxey cant carry that team without Embiid

Not a fan of PG. Career loser.
Also, he’s going to a true contender if he has a choice. Not Orlando.

I am good with getting PG, but no more than 2 years. If he chooses 76ers so be it. Its not do or die for us.

I'm all about bringing in veteran PG, but we can bring Paul George too.

No. Because you're mortgaging your salary cap for two seasons in which we're still young and growing, after which PG could either a) leave, or b) be significantly declining (edit: not to mention he's injury prone, before this year he had played less than 200 games over this previous 4 seasons total). Also, without a sign and trade, how do we accomplish this without renouncing Isaac?
In two years presumably we'll have 60-75% of our salary cap tied up with Paolo, Franz, and Suggs. The rest will be already filled with others on rookie deals or other vets (If JI stays healthy, resigning him, Moe, etc). So in other words, we'd have to trade George to another team and hope to get something back, resign him to a smaller deal (hopefully), or let him walk to save salary that won't help us in free agency but will just lower the team payroll.
This applies even more to Klay IMO.
All signs seem to suggest Orlando has a lot of interest from potential free agents. If the Magic were in desperation "win now" mode, i'd say yes. Like if Paolo or Franz was going to be an unrestricted free agent in a few years and we were feeling the pressure to contend before they considering wanting out. But we're not, so I'd rather go after someone like Monk, or pursue a sign and trade for someone like Murray or Young, players that have a lot of prime years left and could be here 4-5 years minimum if it works out and help us build a contender for a decade, not 2-3 years.
edit: having said that, if no other options seem available/worth it, yes go get Paul George, lol. If he's the best option available. But I think someone like Monk if we can get him is a better option long term.

I'm not sure he even listens to an initial offer of 2/100.
That being said, I am preparing myself for big disappointment this offseason. I am a Magic fan after all.

Eh, I'm not in the sign aging vet to a short contract camp. Let's get Tyus Jones or Malik Monk to lock down the lead guard spot and grow the team from the inside. I'm a bit more partial to Tyus. He's a high assist low TO guy who shoots a high % from the outside. A guy like Tyus keeps Paolo as the focus of the offense. A guy like PG means he's going to dominate the ball slowing the development of Paolo and Franz.
