Anyone else experiencing crippling ads on iOS?

Post#1 » by thelead » Mon May 27, 2024 3:44 am

Legit took me 3 tries just to create this thread and I’m wondering if I’m just going to need to move on from this forum. I totally get that the site needs to generate revenue but when an iPhone 14 Pro can’t load the website without crashing multiple times when just trying to get to a team forum page, it’s a huge problem. Am I the only one that started experiencing these problems 1-2 weeks ago?

I'm getting really slow load times for some reason. Like it's taking the server a long time to respond or something - but I have no idea how the back end of this stuff works. All I know is I've tried turning everything off and on again and it's still slow. Just this site though, others run fine.

Also very long load times on PC, hadn't experienced this in a while, but heard other people are getting ads.

Last I saw HM is aware and they're trying to work on it

Yep…I’m on chrome/iPad and it’s horrendous and getting worse….desktop Mac not as bad, but still the worst website I frequent- incredibly slow lately.

I already question the amount of time I spend thinking about this forum (no offense to you lot)…this crap might just free me to become a more productive human being if it gets worse.

The ads are brutal on chrome. They completely block the reply box a lot of the time.

RealGM has had issues for some time. The ads have been really bad for about a year or more. Last 6 months or so so even worse and any touch of the screen will take you to some weird malware type page, even on the tapatalk app. Now you cant even log on in taptalk. The mobile browser functionality is terrible. I’ve put up with it for a long time but I'm contemplating retiring from RealGM due to these issues. Is that bad and I’ve been here since Tmac played for us…

I never had any adds on the app but now it's not working. I'm sure most people would pay to have an add free app.

Yup I’m on iPhone 14 Pro Max and have been having a lot of issues lately with loud adds when typing a message, slow resonance leading to me creating duplicate Messages hell even right now trying to type this message. It’s acting up.

Safari on iOS… all browsers on iOS are essentially safari (WebKit) with a skin AFAIK.

Thought it was just me experiencing these issues. Like Knightro said, the site on Chrome is horrendous. I can't even click on the page links or post without getting a pop up to appear along with other ads blocking certain areas of the page itself.

Site has also been slow in loading lately. Can anyone confirm the same happens on Edge?

Smooth sailing over here, your service must really suck.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.
