We could absorb Williams and Simons right into cap space - if that was a thing for POR.
Ayton's 35 and 34m remaining doesn't seem like SOOO much if you consider what we're talking about throwing at Klay or PG...I keep trying to talk myself into Ayton - but he's not a good fit and shown himself to be very capable of shutting it down if he doesn't like the vibe. Terrible shame considering how young and gifted he is...IF the Mose and the FO decided it could work, I'd totally get behind it.
I love Williams but I understand his injury history is Isaac-like, but so is his rim-protection

He's a guy that I'd take a chance on, even for a limited minutes specialist. He has had big moments in big moments with BOS - he's proven. He's also said to be one of the best personalities and is beloved by all past and present teammates. He makes $12.4m and then another year at $13.3m. That's a big overpay for a 3rd string C...but, if he plays, he WILL contribute to this team's crazy defensive identity and depth. Even if he never plays a game, depending on the overall deal, it might be a worthy swing....assuming POR values getting a third C off the payroll.
ORL sends: Cole Anthony, Caleb Houstan, ORL 25 frp (top 8), ORL 27 frp (top 8) *($12m in added salary to ORL)
POR sends: Anfernee Simons, Robert Williams III
If Williams is healthy- this is a steal at 2 positions of need. If not, it's still more than good for ORL. I'd consider Jett Howard, instead of one of the frps -if POR preferred.
We'd still have substantial salary space available....depending on Ingles decision, we could maybe still sign Tyus Jones
