Do any of the Picks/trades make someone available?

I was watching the draft and after SAS drafted Castle and then Dillingham(they later trade him), I thought "whoa, does this make Vessell available?"

I assume Brogdon is even more available now with the Wiz trade? Tyus is Def. gone?

Anyone fell the same about any other teams?

The most glaring one, not that it particularly impacts the Magic, would be Portland now having Clingan, Ayton and Williams on their team and all of them being centers who can't share the floor with each other.

Portland as a whole, has some bottlenecks, Centers are 1.
and now with Deni sliding into the SF position, does that also bottleneck Simons & Sharpe? and lesser degree Matisse?

i'm not so sure Brogdon is available right now, maybe come deadline day. Think he'll be used as the 1 year vet to help bring a long Carrington & George.

Seems as though the Wiz know Tyus is gone. That would be my reading.

I think anyone that WAS didn't draft this year or the previous year could be available.

I too was watching to see where Clingan landed (CHA, UTA, DET) in hopes of springing a young C, but Ayton :noway:

Even though POR moved Brogdon, I still think Simons is expendable...he makes too much and is too good to backup Scoot & Sharpe (and now Bub as well). Cole, on the other hand, fits the bill in terms of salary and demeanor. I think the situation for an ORL/POR trade got better because, before, they had no interest in taking Cole and, perhaps insisted on AB. Before, POR could, hypothetically, say they don't want anyone back because they have Brogdon...now I'd say it's at least a conversation...and I'd prefer to move Cole if we bring in someone that's (along with AB & Jett) basically replacing him.

He may have already been in the outbox, but TOR's draft makes me think GTJ is a VERY free agent

...I like the way you're thinking tho

I mean Utah is a collection of players, not a team, right?

Anthony does want to go to New York, so why not a straight up trade for Dennis Schröder?

I'd do that in a heartbeat... and then re sign him to something small and just go get KCP/Klay for 2 years + a 3rd C.

Well, what is interesting with the Nets, we have a son of one of their new Assistant Coach....
Too bad there really isn't anyone on that roster I'd like (Player/contract).

Immediately thought about Portland and their center situation. If we could acquire Ayton/Williams and Simons it would solve a couple problems the Magic have. I seriously doubt we have the financial flexibility to do that though. I hope we decide to resign Goga on the center issue.

We could absorb Williams and Simons right into cap space - if that was a thing for POR.

Ayton's 35 and 34m remaining doesn't seem like SOOO much if you consider what we're talking about throwing at Klay or PG...I keep trying to talk myself into Ayton - but he's not a good fit and shown himself to be very capable of shutting it down if he doesn't like the vibe. Terrible shame considering how young and gifted he is...IF the Mose and the FO decided it could work, I'd totally get behind it.

I love Williams but I understand his injury history is Isaac-like, but so is his rim-protection  He's a guy that I'd take a chance on, even for a limited minutes specialist. He has had big moments in big moments with BOS - he's proven. He's also said to be one of the best personalities and is beloved by all past and present teammates. He makes $12.4m and then another year at $13.3m. That's a big overpay for a 3rd string C...but, if he plays, he WILL contribute to this team's crazy defensive identity and depth. Even if he never plays a game, depending on the overall deal, it might be a worthy swing....assuming POR values getting a third C off the payroll.

ORL sends: Cole Anthony, Caleb Houstan, ORL 25 frp (top 8), ORL 27 frp (top 8) *($12m in added salary to ORL)
POR sends: Anfernee Simons, Robert Williams III

If Williams is healthy- this is a steal at 2 positions of need. If not, it's still more than good for ORL. I'd consider Jett Howard, instead of one of the frps -if POR preferred.

We'd still have substantial salary space available....depending on Ingles decision, we could maybe still sign Tyus Jones
