Houston vs. Jett vs. Da Silva

A lot can change in the next few weeks with FA but I think we can all agree we will be adding at least (1) guard. I think we all can agree the plan seems to be for AB to get Kelle's minutes at the very least. I really think 1 of the 3 above will be the back up for Franz.
My case for all 3 without getting too into the numbers.
Caleb - 2 years pro. Most in game experience of the 3. The staff seemed to go to him when Gary was out and even started 13 games. One of the top HS prospects but has been a little underwhelming in College and first 2 years. Only 21 years old still. Great size. Smooth shot. 37% from 3 last year. Lots of room for improvement. Doesn't seem to be able to create how own shot. Defense was ok with eye test. I think he needs to be 40%+ from 3 if he plans to be in the league for a long time especially on this team. Not sold on him but definitely not ready to give up. The FO seems to love him.
Jett - Whether you think he should have or shouldn't have been, he was a lottery pick. Great size. Good handles. Full year in G league against bottom tier NBA talent. 20 years old. Shot 38% from 3. He had some BIG games but again he had free rein in the G league and the talent level is just not there in the G league. Seems to be able to create his own space and shot which is nice to see. Defense seems to not be on par with what the Magic staff is looking for yet. Lots of room for improvement in that area. The FO seems to be hinting that he will be part of what we are doing this year.
Da Silva - Newest member of the Magic. Oldest of the bunch at 23 years old. 40% from 3 the last 2 years of college. Has more to his game than that. Great cutter and even some post moves. Seems to be able to hold his own on the defensive side as well against the 3's and the 4's but yet to see that at the NBA level. IQ has been what the pundits have been raving about. Ready to contribute day 1.
I am intrigued with all 3. I think it is great that we are in the position to let them duke it out and let the cream rise to the top. In season injuries are inevitable (hopefully nothing serious) but we should get a real look at all 3 this year in some capacity. Hoping in the next year or 2 that 2/3 are real contributors.
My initial rankings
1. Jett - most upside but tightest leash due to defense.
2. Da Silva - best fit for that 14-16 minutes that Franz is out.
3. Caleb - Has had 2 years to solidify himself and has not done it yet. I am actually still very bullish on Caleb.
