it was expected, we ll resign him on the cheap with Min Vet
It doesnt mean that we are trying to go after a top FA
I dont see Wepark trading any of our draft capital, Picks are gonna be VERY valuable with the NEW CBA, once you are above the 2nd apron, this is one of the only way to get better

What would be the reason the Magic should resign him? Is he not older and he did not show up for for the Playoffs and was irrelevant

Veteran presence and locker room presence. I see him coming back and would be ecstatic if he really does. No one said he has to play. Just being in practice and letting the guys know what it takes to win.

If Ingles returns that means we’ve struck out of every FA available rofl

Nah he’ll be back as a player coach again. Or maybe just an assistant coach? I think his time with the Magic is just starting.

Yeah.. we got 5 high lotto guys and 1 23yr old rookie leading our team. We need vets like Jingles who are both good on and off thw court to lead these guys through their nba career.

I don't even want to give mose that option, hope we don't resign him. He was cooked last season and I don't see him getting any better going forward. We got his replacement anyway

Listening to the podcast that someone posted earlier suggested that Ingles was overpaid last year with the agreement to come back this season on a discount. Instead of $11m for 1 year, it would be $14m for 2 years.

But why bring him back though? Please don't tell me any veteran presence nonsense when He's the one getting technicals for his antics

Hear what PB said about his presence and his teachings - sometime around Jan, the Ringer podcast - and you'll understand why the org will want to bring him back, although as cheaply as possible.

Ingles is essentially a player coach that is a very good 3pt shooter and stabilizer.

He had the locker room nickname of "The Professor". The entire team considers him a positive presence and he has an interest in coaching long term. He is the perfect candidate for DNP-CD and mentoring ALL of our ball handling wings.
In theory if any one of Franz / Paolo / AB / our rookie whose name aludes me gets to Ingles level of offensive IQ & EQ then we are a 2nd round team. It just imho makes sense to keep him around.
