I couldn't believe that LA would be throwing the MLE at Harden... we could certainly offer more than that.

He is, even now, waaaay better as a PG than what we have. Correct?

Oh man I think Paolo or Suggs might have to check him if he came here with all that playing around on the court he does lol. Remember when he closed out on a Kawhi 3 point field goal attempt a few months ago. Suggs does get that crazy look in his face on the court sometimes when he goes to his crazy place mentally and I love it.

Who cares about some theoretical timeline when this is the last chance we will have to add a max player just in FA? After paying Suggs, Franz, Paolo we just won’t be able to do that anymore. I don’t get this, really? We should wait for a better time, when in reality this is the last time we have to sign someone that big? It’s either now or never. Let’s get relevant again, now!

I think the point is being missed, no one is saying wait. While not as great as PG, there are and were players that Magic could have gone after who could have grown with the core rather than just being a 3 to 4 year rental or a bridge as the core enters their prime. As you keep on saying it will be difficult to pull free agents when the core signs their contracts so it will be difficult to replace PG’s production when he does leave. I feel people are so focused on PG the name and being “relevant again” they are aren’t thinking of the future.

Can’t always be a pearl clutcher when evaluating NBA talent. MJ had his character flaws would anybody had a problem bringing him into their culture?

He was probably a far worse teammate than most of the guys that get questioned nowadays.

Why do a sign and trade in Jones? The only reason for a sign and trade is if the acquiring team doesnt have space.

Theyre not getting him. Maybe they end up with Luke Kennard though. They got Gabe Vincent for the MLE last season IIRC.

Kispert is up for an extension too...I don't think it will be a big deal, but it might be enough unnecessary expense for a tanking WAS. Maybe they do it without the pick or, maybe without Jett. It's actually kind of charitable as they've got zero control of Tyus now.

I sure wish Gafford was still there to take off their hands.

Really DO have to consider this as we get the signal that spending a LOT is OK with ownership...couldn't hurt to call and see just how desperate they are/what they'd add. Cole is really the only piece I'd want to jettison (again: I like him, he's just likely out of the rotation and does hit the cap for $13m). If Lavine is healthy and maybe a bit inspired to show 'em...you could make an argument that he's as talented as any player in the NBA...just a matter of BBIQ & common sense. Interesting Plan C or so.

It's an obscene amount of salary...but we know that once they get on the court, that's forgotten. Imagining him spreading the floor and scoring at will is pretty enticing, if we can find a way to inspire growth, team play, and defense.

Anyone who seriously thinks getting the biggest free agent in over a decade in Paul George, with 50 mill in capspace we have to use or lose, is simply odd. Not only would he be our 1a-1b, but the amount of buzz that would bring to the city showing we actually can sign a free agent that isn't Joe ingles would do wonders. We need to become a force in this league in order to attract top talent, not just in free agency but in trades. I would also imagine it would be insane to have Silva learning from him. They are both have a lot of similiar profiles. Lebron is getting 50 mill at 40 years old, the league is changing.
