The "ideal" rotation from my perspective is:

Point guard: AB
Combo guard: Cole
Shooting guard: Suggs
Swingman: KCP
Small forward: Franz
Combo forward: TDS
Power forward: Paolo
Combo big: WCJ
Quick center: JI
Power center: Goga

To improve here I'd upgrade the combo guard.

So the trade pieces are Cole, Harris, Moe, Jett, and Caleb. The target would be someone like Keyonte George but older and cheaper. A primary playmaker that can win 6th man of the year.

No…I really don’t know where these imaginary categories came from but certain skills are required and redundant similar players (like Suggs and KCP and Harris at SG is a strong rotation - with the third guy playing sporadic minutes) make for a deep rotation. There’s nothing wrong with similar players coming off the bench to execute the same scheme. I like having “different looks” but it’s even better to come at them in waves and impose YOUR game on the opponents.

There was an article a long time ago about the perfect rotation. These are the categories from that article. Effectively the idea is to find multi-positional bench guys to allow for the most flexible lineup configurations around your starters.

I get that this is your perspective to compartmentalize the roster, but why? Front Offices don't think this way.

Not saying I disagree with your list other than Jett. Don't see them moving a 6-7 21 year old SG/SF for another wing of the same variety they simply didn't draft.

It's just my framework for thinking about the rotation and team needs.

Cole Anthony for Caleb Martin (or any other decent MLE-type SF e.g. Naji Marshall, etc.)

Suggs/Black/Joseph
Caldwell-Pope/Harris/Howard
F-Wagner/Martin/Houston
Banchero/Isaac/da Silva
Carter/M-Wagner/Bitadze

See how much this one little trade balances the roster???
