Why Not Us…..Why Not Now? 2.0
I think the consensus obvious answer is because of the Boston Celtics, but I’ll be damned if after last nights rout of the Heat didn’t make me think about this iconic slogan all over again. Why not us, why not now?! It’s about believing, and the Magic that can happen when you do believe.
You NEVER know when your window is going to open up in this league, all you can do is be ready for it when it does. We are still a piece away, we are absolutely loaded with talent so much so that we can’t even play everyone as it looks. I think Cole is going to wind up being the odd man out if a trade is made and as much as I wanted to see TdS play I don’t think he’s going to get much of an opportunity. Jett also appears to be showcased preseason and yet only comes out when it’s scrub time.
What could a package of Cole, TdS, and Jett + multiple 1st round Draft Picks net us to help it finally become US who wins it all?

i dont think Miami is in the top of the conference any more and not a great measuring stick. Lets see how we do against NY, Indiana and Cleveland.
and that trade package might get you a good starter, but thats about it. Cole is a slight negative, TDS is a rookie, Jett a 2nd year player that will be viewed as someone that couldnt make a team that needed outside shooting. and our future picks arent likely lottery picks

wouldn't trade Jett.. he could easily turn into 6moy type player.

I do think we are very good. There is still heavy competition and we simply aren't really tested yet. Taking Cleveland to 7 on our first appearance though was very good. Next step is to go further, maybe face BOS in ECF.

I mean why not?
Im sure old timers like me remember the D12 era where we were an after-thought after the Celtics ( again ) BIG3 and the prime LBJ era. Yet, we just destroyed every trope.
However, I also agree MIA isn't a good measuring stick. LEt us see NYK CLE and MIL before we think about beating down BOS

Well when we have already dealt with "the elephant in the room". Why not? Why not indeed.

If the team continues to play as they did yesterday I will support whatever management’s decisions are. Seeing how this team is growing makes me not want to question their plans. I trust the process.

Yes, sure, of course we can give it a shot. But do I expect this team to win it all? I don't know
We need internal growth. And also imo, I think we are one big trade away. Just my opinion

We will be one of the few teams, if not only, to get two wins of the Cs

I feel good about our trajectory for sure. Paolo should be a top 15 player this year which is definitely one of the requirements.

However, I think our year would benefit a lot more if Franz and Suggs make the jump this season, especially with Franz being possibly an All Star

If "old-timers" remember the Dwight era, what does that make us who fondly remember the Skiles/Catledge/Anderson era?RookieStar wrote:I mean why not?

Because we lack a shot creator and playmaking.
