I hate being 1st poster leading off with this. But just go ahead and rest Isaac man. He is not the guy we want "compensating using other muscles" because of his hip.

Things I would like to see

Breakout games from Suggs / Cole. Although I guess Suggs actually playing against Miami caused him to break out.

So seeing Cole do well would be nice. The way our bench is constructed I imagine we are following the hot hand. I hope after that outstanding best opening game of all time +- wise that Paolo and gang didn't party too hard and gives us another good night.

Things to watch :
Defensive intensity, will it remain as strong against a team that isn't projected to be as good? Was Miamis 3pt shot attempt / % a gimmick, or is that the start of a new season trend?

Elephants in the room :
Franz / Isaac injury / Mo consistency off the bench / Coles consistency / AB play making / KCP ending the 3pt drought.

Positive Residual boosted our "Vegas -informed estimate of team strength" from 1.78 to 2.46, good now for 6th in the East. The Nets are -5.67, and started the season at -5.89.

We should stomp the Nets.

The line feels a bit high for me.

Brooklyn has a lot of veterans and while they certainly aren't going to be good this year, they're not quite yet in the "we are TANKING tanking" phase yet.

They played very hard against Atlanta.

Same. I could just as easily see a 30 point blowout or a narrow victory. Could also be a coasting victory up 15 and we give up a bunch of points in garbage time, lol. Never touch spreads like this in the NBA for the favorite.

We need Message Boar in here to say "trap game" and stat!

Agreed. I feel our record last year was due to that we were fairly healthy and no guarantees it works out that way this year.

We beat the teams we should've last year most of the time. Let's hope that carries over into this season and the boys take care of business tonight. Hoping we get to see some TDS at the backup 4 if Isaac sits.

Thank goodness there's no more Mikal Bridges and Dinwiddie on this team. They balled out against the Magic last year.

That time of a year when you see corpse of former allstar named Ben Simmons.

Safe bet: Cam Thomas over 25 bricks?

Nets have every intention to suck this year (White flag for Cooper Flagg? ) they have own pick, Knicks pick with no protection, Bucks top 3 protected pick. Marks really did best he could to offload roster and set them for rebuild.

But this year won't be fun for them.

Cam Thomas will put up points...I wonder if our nightmare backcourt opts to try to lock him down (out of pride) or just NOT allow his empty stats to lead to a BRK win...Likely, IMO - Thomas with 28 pts, BRK loses by 20. Always intriguing to see how Ben comes out...easy to forget he WAS All-NBA just a few seasons ago.

Should be a win but they were tough for us last season. Just do not underestimate any team. Magic saying all the right things about how they want to come out for every game, lets see if they back up this talk.

Hopefully Isaac can play tomorrow. We'll need him. Not much for this game. I wonder who gets the call up? Maybe they will play Moe and Goga together.
