All in!! Anfernee Simons 2.0
Here’s your Disney script, Magic star Paolo Banchero goes down with injury and to miss undetermined amount of time, in comes the home town kid to help carry the load and save the season…
In all seriousness Simons now makes even more sense than he did before. I know he brings heated debate but he’s probably the easiest obtainable player and wouldn’t cost us to much. He fills multiple rolls for us, fits the age group, and can definitely be a worthy offensive option capable of shooting 3’s dishing out assists, and can drive to the basket and still be a midrange threat.
We all see rookies and young guys just aren’t going to get much playing time we simply have to much mid to low end talent and have to upgrade some of those guys into ONE guy. We don’t need the draft picks we have of or own much less Denver’s draft pick this season. This unfortunate situation can be managed but the front office simply can’t site back and not adjust.
Pg: Simons
Sg: Suggs
Sf: KCP
Pf: Franz
C : WCJ
This lineup could carry us till P5 is able to come back.

Im on board, but how to get him? Cole, Howard, Houstan plus 2 firsts? I would do that.

Portland is starting Simons and bringing Scoot off the bench, I’d imagine this is just to showcase Simons and keep his trade value up. I’d throw them two 1st round draft picks and Jett to see if they’d bite at that. Not giving away AB at all nor would I think they’d need him but perhaps would try to ask for him. Between our own 2024 1st round pick + Denver’s 2024 1st round Draft Pick that would give them 3 2024 1st round picks which are huge in a deep draft like this for themselves or the package to move up picks.

You can’t tell me you see Jett coming into the starting lineup and giving you 20+ points per game.

Re: All in!! Anfernee Simons 2.0
We need to inject a 20 ppg scorer into this lineup without messing up the bench totally + fix the Suggs pg issue and Simons does that. KCP isn’t cutting it but with this trade we don’t have to bench him yet. This will also give him time to figure out that shot still being a starter and when/if Paolo comes back this season wecan figure out what to do about the starting lineup after that.

Re: All in!! Anfernee Simons 2.0
We aren't going to do this. Our biggest need now is a forward who could start.

Re: All in!! Anfernee Simons 2.0
I'm with it...but I don't think you give them Jett and 2 frps. I think the 2 picks alone plus the matching salary needed should do it...unless it's one pick and Jett (and salary). All of our "filler" are pretty good and/or pretty young players...I don't feel any are truly negative value. We could then use Isaac/KCP/Mo more in the forward spots until Paolo returns. I think you could also play various combinations of Isaac, Mo, WCJ, Goga, Franz, TdS at the 4/5...it's not an obvious solution, as it would be a completely different kind of lineup than at present...but I do like it, because it could be re-integrated with Paolo and be truly lethal on both ends.
Cole, Harris, Houstan, ORL 25 and DEN 25

Sign me up. Would love to get a more offense oriented guard with something to prove. Herro, Simons, Poole etc.
I know they have their flaws, but out culture could make them better

We don't need to fill Paolo's position...we need to replace Paolo's scoring & playmaking. We've got big bodies to play PF...like a normal PF.

Depends what we got to give up

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I don’t know if that’s inflated value what is the going rate on a 25-year-old 20+ point per game score that can create his own shot. Create a shop for others and hit a three-pointer? Not even sure if we could land one of those luckily with our next two first round draft picks so why not

There is no why the Magic should be giving two firsts for Simons especially in this draft.

This, again, misses the point entirely on what Orlando is missing in this group. None of you have learned anything from the acquisitions this offseason.
The Orlando Magic do not need a volume shooting guard that gets 3 assists per game. Shooting has never been the issue. The problem is bad stagnant offense with guys taking difficult shots instead of easy shots. Orlando needs someone to create looks for the players they already have.

Our shooting is not an issue? We were 29th in the league last year in terms of 3pt FGA and one of the bottom 5 in 3pt shooting%
This season KCP didn't get going and Harris is missing all his shots
Our shooting is one of our biggest problem, sir
