How bout that AB!

Before the start of the regular season, I have said AB's growth this season will vastly decide how the ceiling of this team will improve towards? I understand, Paolo and Franz are our two biggest stars. And I have no doubt both will become All Stars as soon as this season.
But AB is also one of our top draft picks. And if he shows any sign this season from how he was projected to be or the potential he showed in College. We should become a very very good Top tier team in the Eastern Conference in as soon as 2 or 3 years. (I am not exaggerating)
(Suggs' growth will be critical to our success to and I am not omitting that. He was All Defense Team last season and he should be among after this season also.)
But how bout tat AB in recent games. He looks more assertive and determined to attack with the ball. He showed tremendous Basketball IQ and play making ability. His 3s are also better than most expected even this season. (I know last season was small sample size)
But in my selfish opinion, I hope AB to be a star on this team in the future. Not just NO.4 best player on the team and maybe even better than that. If that is the case, is that a win for our Front Office in selecting him?
I also think AB should start along side with Suggs. KCP is good defensively and that is why he was there most of the game guarding James Harden. But man, his 3s are among the worst with minimal attempts. I thought he was 40% 3 point shooter his career. BTW we need his 3s to fall.
Another side topic is that, even at the beginning of the season, I thought 3 most important stats for this team this year should be 3 pt FG Made, FT attempts and Turnovers. And I was so darn right we were a much better team after 3-0 start especially from seeing us on 3pt%.
But man, I am wrong. Our 3pt % is among league's worst and we made less 3s per game even than last season.
How can we make improvement from last season and eventually contending with this stats? I just do not see it.
But man, AB is nice! How bout tat AB!

AB plays the game right. He does all the little things already as a 20 year old and as he confidence keeps growing offensively. With his size/athleticism at the guard spot, his ceiling is very high. I'd rate him as a higher prospect than Suggs due to his vision, ball handling, and natural feel for the game. The game keeps slowing down for him and he's getting more comfortable. It'll soon be hard to keep him off the floor.

I dont have you in my notes as an AB doubter. So I will allow this thread to continue with my support.
Here is a my current anti rebuttal of receipts ;
Not enough analysis, homer post, toss out article, who does this author think he is, where do you find these guys, did an AI write this, usage rate isn't high enough, played against bums, coach didn't play him over a broomstick, you got to stop comparing him to Magic Johnson, sunk cost, plays in the Eastern conference.

Of course, he's not Magic Johnson. Let's not get carried away. He's Jason Kidd with a mixture of Penny and Fletch.

Yeah me and @eyriq would playfully banter about how we see tremendous upside and at some point jokingly the Magic Johnson phrase was tossed out there. Did I see him that way? Well, no, not really. I don't think he will be as good as Paolo for example. But his development is coming along nicely and if you watched his college / SL / and observed his NBA stats you knew unlike Amen / Assaur he actually has tools to play PG. I was happy he fell to us because after Wemby / Brandon / Scoot / Black was on my list and I was hoping he would fall.
Follow up OT : I was a little puzzled like the rest of us when we walked away that draft night with Jett & AB. When I went to bed though it had dawned on me that we were choosing to go "PG + G of the future" on the idea that Fultz likely wasn't going to work out. Cole will peak, and in reality Harris should be replaceable.
Here we are a season later, Fultz is gone, Harris is replaced by KCP, and Jett is starting to slowly walk up the "G" depth chart as we need bench scoring and playmaking. Oh yeah, and Cole is playing a disappearing magician trick.

He's nothing like SGA. A little like Haliburton.

Best statistical comp in college.
SGA is a physical anomaly, when he drives and gets a half step past some he can lean in and almost entirely horizontally invert his body and somehow maintain balance to get by somebody. I cant recall the last time a player can do that, keep their balance so well while like slithering around somebody.
Black is big and has a tight handle but that absurd driving ability is not there.
And until you can explain to me why Ike Diogu isn't an NBA all star I don't want to hear too much about College statistiacal comps.

Anthony Black has to shoot better, especially from the 3pt land.
AB's ceiling will be depended on his assertiveness and shooting. His game has grown a lot and he indeed has scored in double digit in the last 4 of 5 games. But 22% from 3 at Charlotte is not going to do it.
Yes, he is still in his second year and only 20 years old. But we will see how it goes especially when Cole is inserted into the rotation. I hope both succeed.
But since this is AB thread. I'd like to see how he adjusts.

Hes a bad offensive player in year 2. I'm sorry... only skillset he's actually decent and consistent at is finishing at the rim. And even then just getting to the rim he struggles to keep the handle and turns over the ball a bit. 4.4 assist compared to 2.3 is a 2 to 1 ratio essentially. That's not good either.
I absolutely love his defense... but he's not at all a reliable offensive option.

Second in sweater vest points. All-Defense talent as a sophomore. Playmaking unlocked. Enjoy the macro trends and don't sweat the small stuff.

No **** way he starts over kcp this year.
Kcp didnt sign here to be a bench player lol you’re just gonna create unnecessary friction with rich paul.

How about “KCP wasn’t signed here to miss 75% of open 3’s” in our exciting new 3pt shooting offensive scheme?

His offense will develop more. He's a 35% 3-pt shooter for his career, and I think he'll flirt with 40% at times in his career. The coaching staff needs to coax him to be more aggressive like they did Franz. If you look at AB stats, they are ahead of Suggs at the same age.

Talking about him as "career 35% shooter for 3 " is reddit level absurdity.
He made 53 threes in nba. Wemby made 48 threes in past 20 games. Prichard off bench made 63 this year alone, during only 18 games.
He is neither good shooter nor ever was defended as one. With less pure catch&shoots, as direct result of more on ball repetition, his shooting went to toilet. Same with Suggs, difference being, Suggs is probably better shooter than it shows right now, where Black probably isn't.
I don't even care about his 3 ball, i would prefer him having better shooting hook and being more creative finisher around rim than he is. His finishing around rim for 6'7 person is dreadful this year. After that is fixed you can focus more on mid range, stop & pop, 3 point shot etc.
