Man, the Hornets are banged up as hell, too. Still need to deal with LaMelo and Brandon Miller, though.

I'm hopeful we have a good performance. We had our best defensive performance of the season against them, and an average offensive performance. It's a good matchup for us.

The Hornets have zero size and they have zero depth.
But they do have two three-level scorers capable of going for 30+ on any given night and that will be a challenge.
They also spam a ton of threes. 2nd in the NBA in 3PT attempts. They've made 20 3PT in a game five times already this year. Orlando has done it... zero times.

This might be a good day to rest Suggs all things considered. I know he is having hamstring problems.

In general we force opposition's shot mix to shift disproportionally into the mid-range. Charlotte is terrible at mid-range FG%.

I look forward to seeing JI on Miller and Bloack/suggs/KCP on Lamelo

This is true.
The Magic are No. 1 in the NBA in fewest 3PT attempts allowed
They're also...
1st in the NBA in opponents 2nd chance points
2nd in the NBA in opponents points in the paint
6th in the NBA in opponents fast break points
They run teams off the 3PT line and still defend the interior, which takes a lot of skilled and active defenders to pull off.

Keep em both out and see if Harris / KCP can rise to the occasion.
The question becomes, will we see Harris + KCP or Black + KCP?
My money is Black + KCP with substitutions to make sure Black ends up playing the same role in 3rd and 4th quarters while Cole / Jett get more playing time to offset depending on the pace of the game.

Diabate is going to kill them on the glass with his hustle. Of course there 3 point shooting scares me. If we can stop them from shooting a high percentage from 3 I think the magic win this.. and of course the biggest stuff of them all... Limited the bone headed stuff (turnovers, second chance points, unnecessary fouls, offensive rebounds etc). Go magic

I would not play Suggs if there's even a question about his status. Straining that hamstring worse would mean weeks out and that's no good. Sit out the next couple if you need to and come back in during the trip to New York.

Resting Suggs would be the right move, hamstring injuries can linger for the season if proper rest isnt given
If we stop Ball & Miller, we win the game. Black & KCP need to lock in on defense

Rest Suggs!
A win or lose in this game or the next few isn't worth it if we aggravate the injury.

Suggs likes to do the rope a dope. I'd let him play. I really don't want to see Cole

I wonder if KCP guards Miller some tonight. He's got a crazy stat of guarding the teams best offensive player over the last few years and I'd think between Suggs(if he plays) and AB they'd be on Lamelo.

The Magic is back on pace to a 50 win season. This win firms that up.
