Current Active/Injured Magic Players

ACTIVE
Goga/Isaac*
WCJ*/Houstan
TDS/Queen/Jett
KCP/CoJo
Cole/AB

*- always threatening to get hurt

INJURED
Moe
Paolo
Franz
Harris (due back soon)
Suggs

That's a full starting lineup out injured. :o Harris due back soon (next game?). Suggs is a fighter and will want to rush back. Who has estimates on return dates and for which players?

Are we going to have to call up a G League big? Who would that be? Baker? Walker?

Queen will have earned himself some bonus minutes in next game tonight. Will Cole start next game?

Cole needs to start next game if Suggs isn’t.

Queen needs to start receiving consistent minutes like yesterday.

Isaac needs to start playing up to his contract/potential.

I love Mo and genuinely hope it’s nothing more than a bad strain, but next man up mentality and would prefer for TDS to slide to the 4 and allow Queen to start at the 3 and have Carter play Mo’s role. This is the time you experiment with different rotations to see if there’s anything there.

Suggs looked pretty stable for an ankle injury. Nobody jumping around and celebrating more than him and he was under Moe’s arm when he was carried off. But, especially compared to Moe’s stoic reaction, Suggs rolls around like he’s been shot every time he gets fouled, so it’s hard to tell.

Queen did very well last season when injuries decimated us. With everyone healthy i don't know why he doesn't play above Jett, Houstan and Gary.

I'm already dreading hearing later today that Mo indeed tore an ACL or something  :noway:

There is that 7’5 dude who mavs had over training camp. A good athlete for his size, but won’t provide anything other than blocks and dunks. Still might be worth a look given the circumstances.

Woof, pretty sparse. Our size advantage is decimated. If we don't get Paolo back I can see us playing pretty small.

We've got the third two-way spot to use for a big.

There’s a clean opportunity here to make Wendell the backup center. Let’s say neither Suggs or Gary is back for Monday against Boston.

Starting 5:
Goga
Tristan
One of Queen, Jett, or Caleb
Kenny
Black

That leaves:
Wendell
Isaac
One of Jett/Queen/Caleb
Cole
CoJo or Mac

We need bench scoring and it’s a chance for Wendell to get confidence against backups. He’s got to find his 3, and he has to take advantage of smaller guys in the paint. Otherwise he needs to just sit period.

I actually like Wendell playing alongside another big, and no, I don't really consider Paolo a big. Paolo plays like a big SF or a small PF. Wendell also plays small at times when he plays center. I just don't think a PF and Center who play small on the defensive end can coexist long-term in the starting lineup.

Everyone's argument is that Wendell spreads the floor for Paolo and Franz. I think they play better with a traditional center in the dunker's spot. I remember Paolo getting a lot of assists to Mark Williams in college.

Suggs will be back next game.

Mosely probably begged him to sit out last night.

Paolo is already bigger than most teams starting PF and he is 22. Only will get stronger. Wendell is not an answer at the 4 IMO. He can play there in spots, but that lineup would not have enough shooting unless the NBA gets some crazy rule change which I guess isn't off the table these days.

Paolo isn't going to grow longer arms.

It's official. No more Mo for the rest of the season. This season is a mixture of special and awful.

At first I thought it was a cursed season but I have to acknowledge all the great things that have happened.

I think there are more great things to come.

We got not Moe for the rest of the season and probably half of next season no?

We’re gonna have to add another big man for depth and insurance, right? Can’t rely on Isaac and WCJ to be healthy for every game and no idea how Paolo’s return will go.

I wonder if we could get Huff back from Memphis? He knows the team and players.

Alternatively, what bigs are still FAs who might take the injury exception to be a depth piece? Maybe the Pels will move Theis for a 2RP + filler?

Even when he finally comes back i don't think he's not gonna be as good as he has been. I'm no doctor nor can tell the future but I have seen what happened to Ji and Fultz after blown ACLs, this sucks i love watching him get to play alongside side with his brother.

I thought in this day and age ACL tears arent as "problematic" as before.
