Good opportunity for Paolo to break out of his slump here. They don't have a particularly good defensive matchup for him.

I’m not sold it’s a slump. He is still getting his body back and his confidence in it.

If there was no Luka trade, Hawks would be the biggest mid season losers.
Giving up on Bogdanovic and Hunter to collect:
Hyland, Mann, Niang and LeVert , ONE SECOND ROUND PICK and two pick swaps for 2026 and 2028, but those swaps only happen if and when Jazz swap pick first.
Like, what a hell was their GM smoking that night?
On top of that, they can't even tank for rest of a year, because if they do, Spurs will become richer as there is no protection on pick they own to Spurs.
They own Lakers and Kings first round picks, but Kings pick has 1-12 protection.
Just flat out crazy mid season for them. During all that, Capela went MIA for personal reasons and "back pain" so they even failed to trade him.

Looking forward to this one. Went from young and flying Hawks to the older gritty Hawks after the trades. Mia, Atl, and Orl fighting for those premium play in slots, hoping for a fun, no injury game.

He's probable. That was being reported erroneously.

The Magic's pre-season goal was the 4-seed. It looks like better than a 0.570 record is needed (were the Pacers is currently), where In, which is: 47 wins.
For the Magic to win 48, that means a 21-6 close-out (78% win rate). Currently only Cleveland and OKC is winning above that rate.
So: improbable, but not impossible.

the 4th seed is still in reach. Still a lot of games left. and the team is capable of winning 8 out 10. they have already shown that this season

If your obliques are weak or injured, your body may not be able to effectively transfer force from your core to your legs, leading to a feeling of leg weakness, especially during activities requiring twisting or rotation.
Paying attention to Paolo’s legs tonight, his shots have been coming up pretty short and he’s not getting to the free throw line near as much as he did prior to the injury.

Win and you’re a step away from getting to the break back at .500.
Lose and we drop down to 9th in the East.
Show up and take it to them.

When is Suggs coming back? I would really love to have a sticky thread with all informations/news about injured players.

Nothing to be done at the trade deadline in trying to replace Jalen Johnson.
However, the trade itself has not significantly changed the Hawks trajectory in the standings for this season. Still a play-in team with a 2 game winning streak post trade. They've cleaned up their cap sheet for next season.
Bogi has really struggled this season (24 games) shooting 30.1% from 3 and really awful on defense. He's been injured on and off since Game 1. Olympics appeared to have taken a toll and he is 32.
Hunter has finally played well for most of this season off the bench, but if you peek at his January numbers he was coming back down to earth. His efficient scoring will be missed, but if he isn't scoring he doesn't give you much else in terms of rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, deflections, etc.
What the Hawks did most with this trade, was merely upgrade the current bench from the Garrison's, Keaton's, Roddy's, to Levert, Mann and Niang.

Probably the first game after the all-star break.

Trae picked to be the all-star replacement over Franz.
