What a joke...some guy named Pina "gets it"...but Brian Windhorst, quoting an NBA GM is just making stuff up.
You've developed quite a taste for Kool-Aid

I equally hate all national NBA media.

I find it interesting the quote of " other teams squeezing our longterm goals for their short term solutions" or something like that.
They knew we were desperate and wanted us to panic trade?

Every GM probably started the trade talk with wanted Gary, Caleb, and Cole. Rats!

We shouldn't be in panic mode

“We will come to a point where we are going to assess the team and see what it is that we need to advance to the next phase and really turn the corner,” Weltman said. “I look forward to doing that. … We’re going to be aggressive.”
#1: when
#2: if the timing of this "aggressive" mode is obvious to everyone, it may not go how you think, Jeff.

I'm neither in panic mode nor am I evaluating mode.
I am ready to look at deals to improve the roster long term.
I love Suggs and yet his availability doesn't seem to be something we can prove. He is injury prone, just no doubt, the most impactful defender on the roster outside of Isaac, Black, Franz, KCP last.

How does that even work because the Suns traded for another pick and then traded a 2026 first round pick?

Hopefully a lottery pick

And if booker ask out, phoenix would want that pick back so trading with us would be appealing to them
That pick+ 3 other picks+ Harris+ kcp+ AB could be a very good package for them

Suns pick swap is complete mess.
We have right to swap after and if Wizards swap.
But Wizards don't even own -own 2026 pick, it belongs to Knicks if it falls over 9th in draft. (1-8 protected).
But we can assume Wizards will continue to suck.
So best case is that both Wizards and Suns suck in same year where Magic are good.
After Magic, Memphis has right to swap pick yet again, and Hornets get whatever is left.
To add even more mess to a mess, Durant will probably be traded in off season AND Beal is entering de facto last year of his deal (assuming he won't pick player's option and wants annually lower deal but with more years ).
Booker went out and said he wants to stay with Suns "whole career" regardless of 2025 off season, and it just means that Suns will, due lack of other options, try to retool roster in off season.
Craziest part of all this is that Wizards and Hawks were actually interested in Beal.
Who knows, might be good, might be literally nothing. This year people got all wet about Nuggets pick due lack of serious protection and slow start but not only that they figured out, they are in serious race for top 3 record in nba now.

Pretty sure the Magic get the pick swap with Phoenix alone in the unlikely event the Washington pick goes to the Knicks. Seems like a pretty good bet our pick gets swapped for a lottery.
Beal is a terrible value on his contract, but he's a decent player. He's still 17 PPG on 40% from 3, and 60% TS as the third fiddle behind Durant and Booker. He's seen his usage go from 34% in DC to 22% in Phoenix.
Beal would be kind of a sneaky add for the Magic, assuming he'd waive his trade clause, and the Magic were looking for more of a SG than a ball handler.
