Some big news.
This is Paul Porter's last season as public address announcer.
Apparently, it was not his decision.

This organization makes a bunch of questionable moves
that said, we don't know the details as to why he's being let go

Porter is 1 year younger than Steele. Hopefully, the Magic will treat him right.

This is an abomination.
Dennis Neumann got pushed out. Paul is now getting pushed out.
You do not treat franchise legends like this.
If you’re a season ticket holder, please voice your displeasure.
Paul should get to walk away on his terms. He’s still a top-3 PA guy today.
There is no replacing him. The in-game experience dramatically decreases without Paul.
And we never got him that ring.

Spot on & won’t be the same going to games and not hearing his iconic voice. Have a bad feeling they’re going to go after some hip new person

Wait, isn't he the guy who gets the Death Star theme song or something?!?
He was legendary.
How do you replace that magic (no pun).

Yeah, I really don't want him replaced with some obnoxious new voice that some fresh-out-of-college Marketing clown thinks will appeal to Gen Z.

He has a perfect voice to be a PA guy. The Magic is not looking for play-by-play or a color man here, it's a PA job. Maybe go find some 20 year old country music singer in an audition for this gig. That catches the Gen Z and Gen A audience.
Maintaining "grit" and "draw" is really important in this work.
As I never go to games this is not a big blow for me. But Steele's replacement will be super important on the streaming experience; how I watch games.
Dante Marchitelli does not work for me. And his energy with Turner just doesn't click.
I liked the Vince Carter interviews as a play-by-play guy. Maybe him?
How's Chris Caray, Chip Caray's son, in PbP?

Oh look, a stupid organization doing stupid things. I would ask "What else is new?," but this particular display of stupidity is pretty unprecedented actually. Hasn't he been there since day 1? It's not even going to sound like a Magic home game without him.

What do you mean? You can still hear him throughout the entire game, even on TV. He's arguably just as much the voice of the Magic as anyone else.

Oh, okay, so, you can fire someone who is doing a great job but you won’t trade players who are unproductive?

Pat Williams basically hired him. He knew about Paul when he worked in Cleveland and Pat was with the Sixers.
The story goes Pat told Paul to apply for both the radio play-by-play job (which Paul had done elsewhere) and the PA job in ‘89.
David got the radio pbp job, Paul got the PA gig.
So in the season where we’re honoring the passing of Pat Williams, we’re firing a man he hired back in 1989.

This has to be the most idiotic decision made in a very long time. This news is borderline more depressing than how the season has been. WHY are we eliminating him if Paul himself isn’t the one making the decision to bow out? Incredible.

Damn he will be missed. WTF is this organization thinking now brining him back? He was one of the best in the business. The guy that they have at the games when Porter isn't in Orlando is no were near as good as him. Sucks man, what an odd decision.

This is a bummer however does it have to do with him not making all the games due to the Lightning?

Fits the script of the city of Orlando as a whole. Never preserving there history... Always changing or getting rid of stuff just for the sake of it. Like that Marrietta sign(or how ever you spell it) that sign should have never came down on i-4 lol.
