From my memory (without checking stats), the underdogs usually only have a chance to steal game 1 because the favorites aren't properly prepared or rusty after the long break. The 2nd game is usually much more difficult.

Let's see if the team can embrace their inner Steve Clifford Magic and steal game 1.

Hopefully what we saw from Cole, JI, AB, and Wendell will carry over into this series. I just don’t trust them being consistent like that.

I would expect both teams to switch everything, but for different reasons.

The Magic switching everything and essentially conceding mismatches inside the arc is going to be how they limit the Celtics three-point attempts.

The Celtics switching everything makes sense because everyone of their starting five and Horford are good to very good defensively and there isn’t an awesome mismatch for the Magic to try and hunt.

Won’t be able to watch this game but I just hope EVERYONE that plays show up for this game. For the Magic sake, don’t get blown out by the 1st or 2nd quarter. I hope if Paolo cannot score he becomes a passer, I am going to need Franz to shake off his game 7 failings and step up (he can do it, we all know he can), and I need the rest of the team to hit their shots (or actually take them). We’re in trouble if Paolo is taking 20/30 shots and the team can’t get in a rhythm. But most importantly, I just hope the team go and have fun playing and everyone’s safe (both team).

Earlier in the year, when we had Suggs, we had this thing where we held opponents to less than 8 points in the 3rd or 4th quarter while we try and score for about 6/7 minutes…I miss that. I hope we can channel that and the team not let their offense affect their defense.

Who cares how we do it? A win is a win.

Which ORL is very well equipped to do. I’m as critical as anyone, but I think I’m usually objective. We have a chance to win a couple of games, imo. If Brown is hampered by his knee - we might do even more. Franz might just bully JB the way JB has previously bullied Franz.

Paolo & Franz are the real thing and this environment is exactly what we overpaid KCP for. Just about everyone else is a wildcard in this situation.

IF WCJ grabs 10 boards, including some offensive ones, and plays relentlessly and violently, Porzingis might end up neutralized, in the 5th row, or the hospital.

IF “Prime Time Cole” shows up…as he tends to do in BIG moments, under the bright lights…

IF Isaac can play meaningful minutes and have the DPOY type impact that’s been sporadic this year…

BOS’s dominance is based on otherworldly 3pt shooting, that’s always a shaky foundation…and ORL is exceptional vs that…

IF Caleb, TdS, AB, CoJo hit open 3’s and punish defenders who cheat onto Paolo & Franz…

IF CoJo (and AB?) control the pace and keep BOS from running away from them…

None of these are impossible or even unlikely scenarios, individually…for a whole series-Very unlikely, but one game at a time.

Just avoided the predictable game 1 blowout.... Make it somewhat of a game. That's all I ask for. Obviously hitting open 3s will go a long way. Kcp not being first 60 games kcp would be huge. Paolo & Franz having super star games would help.... But I just expect Boston to bomb away from 3 and not being able to keep up. Well see. Go magic
