What would be your dream team this upcoming season (2025-2026)?

Post#1 » by ORLMagicGirl15 » Mon May 19, 2025 7:17 pm

I want this to be a fun thread. You don’t have to use stats and all to bring someone’s dream team down, just have fun.

Luxury tax is $189 m, 1st apron is $195.9 million, if you could make the salaries work, who would be on your dream team? You don’t have to go by those income, I just wanted to keep it in the universe of possibilities

Coach: Mosley
Assistant Coach: Mike D’Antoni

Players:
Paolo
Franz
Suggs
Andrew Nembhard
Daniel Gafford

JI
Moussa Diabates
AB
TDS
Cam Johnson

Mo(only because I don’t think he’s be ready this season)
Caleb
Justin Champagney or Luke Kennard
Traveled Queen
Jay Huff
2025 draft pick

We still have a shooting problem in the starting unit, however, on the bench both Justin and Travelen could help out and Caleb, if he can make a leap.

I know some of the names are spelled wrong. I’ll fix it when I have the chance. I’ll also calculate the roster income.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.-John 3:16

Go Magic, Go Dwight, Go Vuc, Go Paolo, Go Keegan :)

Something like:

Suggs/Black/Joseph
Simons/Kennard/Horton-Tucker
F-Wagner/Batum/da SIlva
Banchero/Isaac
Carter/M-Wagner/Bitadze

Derrick White / Anfernee Simons (surprise 14 mil deal/5) / #16 or 25
Jalen Suggs / Gary Trent Jr.
Franz Wagner / Anthony Black / Da Silva
Paolo Banchero / Mo Wagner
Kristaps Porzingis / Goga / #16 or 25

In a semi-realistic world because all players are impending FA’s basically, which means easier to trade for in SnT’s. D. White is a 2nd apron opportunity and I’d do Andrew Nembhard as well for sure, sadly both might be unrealistic so I may need to edit post (maybe Anfernee starting, and the surprise 14 mil/5 deal is like Ty Jerome). Co-sign D’Antoni as Head Assistant too, haha.

Pipe dream?

Trae
Suggs
Franz
Paolo
Someone who can consistently rebound and block shots.

Likely we wouldn't keep one of Suggs or Franz to get Trae, but somethings gotta give.

Simons/Black/Cojo
Suggs/FA/queen
Franz/Tristan/houstan
Paolo/Cam Johnson
Gafford/goga(until moe is healthy)/moe

We get some much needed shooting in Simons and Johnson. Then we get a really good rim running big who can block some shots. We still allow room for our big 3 to expand their games while giving them better spacing around them.

Summer of the Pivot! WE NEED A PIVOT!!!

Step 1: Decline Team Options on Gary Harris, Caleb Houstan, and Cory Joseph

Step 2: Draft
Use both 1sts to trade up for Khaman Maluach. If we have to throw in more, throw in more. We get our ever elusive defensive C at 7'2 255 pounds with a 7'6 wingspan. Round 2 we add another Dukie, this time a shooter, PG Tyrese Proctor. .405 3PT% on nearly 6 3PA/gm.

Step 3: Small Trade
To ORL: Terry Rozier
To : Wendell Carter / Cole Anthony
Just looking to dump bad contracts and build depth with another dawg.

Step 4: Big Trade
To SAN: Franz Wagner / Jalen Suggs
To ORL: De'Aaron Fox / Devin Vassell / Jeremy Sochan
BIG PIVOT TRADE! Gotta give to get. This is a win now move with a big window. Fox is 27 and Vassell is 24.

This team is ready to rock centered around Paolo who is about to ascend into NBA Greatness. There's no sharing the team lead with Franz. This is no question, Paolo's team, defense everywhere, some new dawgs with attitude, and a big boost in more reliable shooting. Now that's a pivot.

PG De'Aaron Fox / Terry Rozier / Tyrese Proctor
SG Devin Vassell / Anthony Black / Jett Howard
SF Kentavious Caldwell-Pope / Tristan da Silva
PF Paolo Banchero / Jonathan Isaac / Jeremy Sochan
C Khaman Malauch / Goga Bitadze / Mo Wagner

I’m going to try to stay somewhat realistic. There’s obviously better targets that are a more dream scenario, but I would be really content with this team.

Declining Wagner/Harris/Joseph options

Pick up Houstan option (cheap depth)

Draft Walton Clayton Jr. with #25

Draft Alex Condon with #46

Sell #57

Resign Wagner to another 1+1 (lower AAV)

Keep Isaac until Wagner is back fully healthy (boost his trade value for next seasons deadline).

Continue to develop TDS as Orlando’s version of Cameron Johnson.

Trade 1:

Goga Bitazde
KCP
#16
‘26 FRP (via WAS/PHX swap <— this could easily be top-10)

For Austin Reaves/Jarred Vanderbilt/Shake Milton

Trade 2:

Cole Anthony
Jett Howard
‘27 SRP via Boston
‘28 SRP via WAS/LAL

For Collin Sexton

Reaves/Sexton/Clayton
Suggs/Black/Milton
Wagner/TDS/Houstan
Banchero/Vanderbilt
Carter/Isaac/*Wagner/Condon

This isn’t a championship level team, but it gives Orlando a reliable PG that has upside, fits stylistically and the timeline with their core.

This plan still emphasizes development of Black and TDS which is crucial for longterm success.

This group is extremely versatile and gives Mosley endless options to play around with.

This also gives Orlando fans something to cheer about without going fully all-in which is probably the best path. Orlando goes into next deadline with Isaac/youth/picks/salary fillers for another potential big trade.

Simons, Black, Cojo
Suggs, KCP, Caleb
Franz, Prince, TDS
Paolo, JI
WCJ, Moe, Goga

Walter Clayton - Gleague

Not my DREAM but I think this is prob best case scenario without swinging for the fences for a Trae or Garland which I do not think they do.

If we're going somewhat realistic but optimistic :D ...

#1
ORL sends: WCJ, KCP, ORL 26 frp (with lottery upside) to LAL for Reaves, Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber
Why LAL: WCJ & KCP bring immediate toughness and excellent vet fits to push them into immediate contention and lottery-likely pick next summer.

#2
ORL sends: Cole Anthony, Goga, #25 to TOR for Jakob Poeltl
Why TOR: They draft Maluach and plug in Goga for appropriately priced backup. Maluach will not need a long ramp-up as his role is limited. FRP.

ORL drafts Maxime Raynaud at #16, BPAs in second round (Powell, Proctor, Pettiford - whoever slides?)

Depending on cap...maybe keep Houstan, Cojo and consider re-structuring/extending Moe Wagner & Harris for less salary

Poeltl, Raynaud, Isaac (Moe)
Paolo, Isaac, Kleber (if Kleber's shooting returns- he could have a much bigger role)
Franz, TdS, Houstan
Suggs, AB
Reaves, Vincent

This is a MUCH higher BBIQ team across the board...I'd love to see some kind of offensive coaching adjustment, like a Lead Assistant hired. A scheming braniac to perfectly compliment Mosely's charisma, leadership and defensive focus...not a proven vet HC who'd feel like a threat to take his gig.

Suggs/Sexton/Joseph
Murphy/Black/Lanier or brea
F-Wagner/O'Neil/da Silva
Banchero/Isaac/O'Neil
Carter/M-Wagner/ji/Fa vet big

KCP+ Jett+ 16 + 2027 FRP + 2028 FRP + few SRP

Then Cole+ Houstan + 25 for sexton if he agrees to extend for less than 85M / 4 yrs

Goga for Royce O'Neil

Draft Lanier or brea using your SRP

Re-sign cojo on min vet

Opt out on Gary

Decline on Moe and offer him a 1+1 contract at 6 M per year (we ll extend on bigger contract if he comes back healthy)
Suggs/Black/Joseph
Bane/Jett/Harris
F-Wagner/da Silva/Houstan
Banchero/Isaac/Moe
Carter/Goga/Raynaud

Return to Orlando Magic
