A whopping one hour 50 minutes! enjoy on your car rides or leisure. Knightro was on hotel wifi so some of his words cut off at times but for the most part the quality should be okay!

I'm really impressed so far! Your voices are good for a pod, the flow is nice, and you coherently are stringing together thoughts

Edit: you definitely ramble at times, probably take a breath and let soul string the thoughts together, but it's still really good stuff

Just finished listening to the podcast and wow — absolutely loved it! Big shoutout to Soul and Knightro for such insightful content. Highly recommend!

They really nailed how complex roster-building is under the current rules — it’s not as simple as “just sign stars.” I think a lot of posters on this board would benefit from giving it a listen.

Great job

Thanks! I was actually glad Knightro was able to talk more in depth at certain parts because my thoughts on the Magic are usually pretty quick quips that are never fully baked regardless except when I have a very strong opinion on things.

But the next time we record something I'll definitely try to ask less open ended questions 'cause it's just unfair with how many different directions the Magic can theoretically go haha. Since this was just a general offseason one there was a lot to talk about but maybe we can do a post-draft/post FA thing to discuss moves.

Or have a guest on too? I remember we tried to get Bensational on a while ago but we couldn't work the schedules out.

Great listen :) It’s nice to actually hear Magic fans talk about the team. I would most definitely listen to the podcast.

And just because I’m corny, if you guys should continue with your podcast (you should), your podcast name should include “Nick at Knight” or “Nick at Knightro”

You get it? Play on your first name and username???
Whatever it cracked me up. :D

Listened for a few minutes that I had. Great content. As a heads up, sounds like both of your noise gates were not tuned right. That's why words are being cut off. It's either in your microphone settings, your audio interface settings, or your editing software if you ran it through some audio processing.

I think I just cut my own thoughts off, I need to back up more though on my mic haha. Tbh we had a better program to record on but it was picking up too much white noise on Knightro's side so Discord which isn't the best connection had to do.

I had time to listen to it today. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved knightros breakdown of the financials at the beginning. The part about waiving the players with team options to bring us down to whatever number 176 or 179 and only leaving like 6.8 to get to the first apron doesn't include the potential salaries of our 2 first round picks which I believe are guaranteed if made and signed. I think that is even more indicative of at least 1 or 2 trades coming. We couldn't possibly go into next season with the same team minus mo swags, Gary and CJ and add 2 rookies.

Trades are definitely coming in the next week and a half. It'll be interesting to watch what they do. I strongly recommend a follow up podcast after the draft and trades to rehash the state of the roster and the cap.

Side note I love the idea of adding another voice to the podcast. Perhaps a good poll question to the board on who we'd like to hear from. We have so many good posters on here that are active and engaged and so many wide ranging opinions.

Well we had to wait a long time for the next podcast and you still did it couple days too early :P
Thanks for asking my questions. I think they both got answered today in a strange way.

Shooting vs playmaking was about wanting to move the ball with limited 3&D players like KCP or selfish players like Cole or not good enough playmakers like Suggs (but we still moved the ball a lot more with him). We got both shooting and playmaking in Bane which is really great. It will still depend on Franz and Banchero to share the ball becouse in a vaccum we had Suggs and KCP both coming out of 40% 3pt shooting seasons but they just couldnt catch a rhytm becouse of iso heavy offesne (which you also admited in the pod)

Many people argued we should have traded frp for a guy like Tyus Jones or someone similar this trade deadline. Now we can see that even picks outside lottery are valueable.
We can also stop laughing about Weltman trading second round picks into the future. Now we will need them more than before.
Thats what i meant when i said Weltman still didnt do any big move and we should wait with the judgement... :P
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !
