Next moves to be Top-4 team in the East??
not going to sit and cry about overpay, whats done is done. Everyone, me included, lamented a lot of the drafting by the front office and now crying about losing picks in the 20's.
i fully believe that this team can compete for Top-4 in the East.
Suggs (if healthy)/ Black
Bane/Harris/Houstan
F. Wagner/TDS/Howard
Paolo/Isaac
WCJ/Isaac/Goga
#25 for a traditional PG or center? (Walter Clayton or someone like Wolf/Raynaud)
Move WCJ for a PG or a different center?
trade for another big to help until Mo is back?
What are our next moves?

We're absolutely a top four team in the easy, at least next year with Lilliard and Tatum out. We'll see what happens the rest of the season, but if we're healthy, we are going to have a chance to make a really deep run.

How can we get Sexton? Sexton wasnt a sexy pick but now that we have Bane, it doesnt have to be sexy.
Keep Isaac

Another interesting point here is how does this affect the rotation? It was pretty much always the plan last year to have either Franz or PB on the court at all times. Franz seems to go into another gear when he's not playing with PB. Does Houston come in for Franz early and play with the starters to add more 3 points shooting and spread the floor and allow Franz to be the focal point of the offense with the second unit?

DAL allegedly looking for a late frp…what could we add to #25 for Gafford?
Goga & TdS?
Gafford, WCJ, Isaac
Paolo, WCJ, (Moe)
Franz, Isaac, AB
Suggs, AB, Koby Brea (#46)
Bane, CoJo, Ryan Nembhard (#57)
Depending on what we do with TO’s, maybe a vet backup PG like CP3 or Tyus Jones replaces CoJo? I really like a Gafford/WCJ center rotation- I’d say they’re roughly equivalent players, but maybe WCJ’s offense flourishes on second unit with more freedom and offensive opportunities. Decisions could be made about future before WCJ’s extension hits at the same time Gafford is due a new deal. Or, just get Gafford and move WCJ now-and keep Moe as #2…we certainly don’t need an $11m 3rd string C. That role belongs to a vet min like Miles Plumlee, Jax Hayes or even Mo Bamba.

THis is a LARGE list this year: Malik Beasley, Ty Jerome, Caris LeVert, Khris Middleton, Chris Paul, Luke Kennard, Dennis Schröder, Tim Hardaway Jr., Spencer Dinwiddie, Bruce Brown, Chris Boucher, Larry Nance Jr., Taurean Prince, Kevon Looney, Gary Payton II, Malcolm Brogdon, Ben Simmons, Paul Reed, Nicolas Batum, Trey Lyles, Thomas Bryant, Pat Connaughton, Bojan Bogdanović (if healthy), Kyle Lowry, Eric Gordon, Delon Wright, Daniel Theis, Matisse Thybulle, etc.
There is a lot of value to be found thus year at the LLE to half-MME salary line this off-season. Getting two of the above names might cost the Magic less than 7M for both. Vet leadership will be found!

I’d add…DeAngelo Russell, Russell Westbrook, and Guerschon Yabousele as possible UFA vets that could be intriguing.
From your list, I like CP3, Dinwiddie, Theis, and Paul Reed as names of interest…depending on other moves, I’d even consider Joe Ingles, Miles Plumlee and Mo Bamba on vet mins for end of bench depth

Re: Next moves to be Top-4 team in the East??
The salary situation is definitely going to be a thing to keep an eye on. I hate the idea of trading Suggs but what if a trade was worked up with the spurs around this:
Orlando sends Suggs/WCJ/#25
spurs sends Vassel/Barnes/#14
Orlando sends Suggs/WCJ/#25
spurs sends Vassel/Barnes/#14

Re: Next moves to be Top-4 team in the East??
We are at 130.1% of the cap right now. We can waive 15.5% to get down to 114.6% with 10 players on the roster. That leaves us around 13.4% of the cap to spend before hitting that first apron. The NT-MLE is around 9.1% or something like that. The math ain't mathing.
What I expect now is that we use our 3 picks and bring back Moritz and Caleb and call it a wrap. OR there is another move that cuts some costs.

Some version of this seems certain! There are LLE moves needed though.
Depending on who is drafted, bringing back Joseph on his LLE deal is as cheap as it gets for a 3rd string PG. I would rather the Magic retain him over Houston. (And Howard should not be in the league; but waiving him does not help the Magic's cap).
Suggs/Black/Joseph-or-rookie
Bane/some LLE dude/Howard
F-Wagner/some LLE-dude/Houstan, some LLE-dude or rookie
Banchero/Isaac/some LLE-dude or rookie
Carter/Bitadze/M-Wagner
2RP#1 - two way
2RP#2 - Osceola bound

Re: Next moves to be Top-4 team in the East??
I'm all about moving #25 (with Goga, Jett?) for Gafford if that's remotely possible. But, I expect that we'll re-up CoJo and draft with #25. I hope we're able to re-up Moe, but it may not be in the cards...this was an all-in move and Moe will be out for months and may need even longer to regain his full capabilities.
I wonder if we'd consider (or BRK or any team with a trade exception or some space would) sending out #46 (or #57?) with Jett for nothing back, to get towards that MLE. If I'm a rebuild team with a year to kill, why not take a chance? The kid can clearly shoot.

I think they are top 4 already if they stay healthy. They may not be done retooling either.

Would we consider doing a Suggs and TDS for Fox deal now that we have bane? We were reportedly in on Fox at the deadline before he got traded to the spurs. I don’t know how I feel about it to be honest. The spurs have the #2 pick and Harper is the obvious choice so they might consider it. Idk just a random thought if they want more playmaking and a more durable player.

Re: Next moves to be Top-4 team in the East??
Could it finally be Chris Paul time? Lol. I mean, I'd be interested, but I'm not convinced he's going to sign somewhere for peanuts and come off the bench. At this stage, he should, I'm just very skeptical of it.
Brogdon is still solid if healthy, but not sure he's ready yet to accept a low salary. He may not have a choice in the matter if he doesn't get offers, but we'll have to see.
Same with Bogdanovic. I think he's more likely than Brogdon to be forced into a vet minimum contract even though he probably thinks he's still worth more. But at his age and injury status, it is what it is.
Bruce Brown was a solid player for a short time who fell off a cliff. I don't think I'd even be interested in that reclamation project though even for the minimum, just because he doesn't fit a specific need at this point. We're all set on combo guards.
Middleton very well may be totally cooked now. Or maybe he can bounce back after his surgeries for one or two more productive seasons. Who knows. I'm interested if he's healthy. All-Star Khris Middleton is a distant memory, but he could conceivably help a team off the bench as a savvy veteran shooter.

11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.
- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I’m expecting a trade for a PG involving Suggs, Issac, Jett, Carter or Goga and our 25th pick in this years draft.

Doe this money work? Because if so this is a smart deal for both sides
Edit: Orlando would need a guarantee Fox would re-sign.
Edit 2: Tried this in the trade machine and it didn’t work, so would need some three team or salary sorcery I’m too tired to look into

I already think we are top4 barring injuries with our lineup
